I like it also. I don't love it, but I have only watched it once.

I may view it tonight, as a matter of fact.

To the OP: you thought it was stupid, seriously? That's surprising to me, as pretty much anyone I've talked to about the movie has liked, if not loved it, most certainly including myself. You must have a rare taste. I can say that you may get a little more out of the film if you read some Lovecraft, to see what Carpenter and crew were riffing off.

My first non-intro post. Go me.

That wasn't a clifhanger ending that left room for a sequle, that was just ending the movie in the middle of the story!

It was stupied I thought.
this movie had alot going for it,it could'a been so sweet.it had a strong opening and a weak closing and that for me was it's down fall.as a rule i think most remakes are a bad idea, but i would'nt mind seeing this little honey remade.

I thought Sam Neil was tereffic in it.

He could be the new century´s Vincent Price if he wanted to. But i guess he don´t.

As far as movies based on Lovecraft stories/themes go, this one was probably the best I've seen. I thought the film was okay until the end, it didn't really end. I'm a big fan of HP Lovecraft(even if he was one racist son of a bitch.) I'm still waiting for someone to make the definitive Lovecraft movie.

That's one of my favorite endings ever!
