It's really just a fun love letter to the genre. I particularly like the casting of horror alums like Sid Haig and Bill Moseley. I also like the nod to the the Marx Brothers.

I agree, it was an excellent film on multiple levels, in my opinion. They both were, though the second is probably harder for people to handle as it is much more exploitation than the first (unless this is just my perception). As a big Marx Brothers fan, I loved that aspect of the series. Of course for those that do not know the Marx Brothers, this aspect was more explicitly explored in The Devil's Rejects.

I wasn't a fan at all of 1000 corpses. I do like rejects better, and I thought halloween was really well done. However, you just can't top a classic. IMO the Halloween remake couldn't have been done better, but like I said, you can't top a classic. The original was, is, and always will be a gem.

i am actually surprised thios thread has as amny comments as it does, seems old zombies a contentuous geezer. Perhaps it's the fact that i hated his music that sent me into his movies with low expectations. Still, i still don't like him regardless

Chronogrl thanks for the compliment, and i Really like your avatar (flirts outrageously)

What I liked about House of a 1,000 Corpse was the 80's/90's feel to it. You could tell that movie was done by someone who really enjoyed watching horror movies. The ending got really weird but for the most part it was a good horror film (can't really say that about the rest of his films)

Also my wife said she hates the movie because it makes you side more with the villains then the victims, which I love that fact.

I didn't really care for House of 1000 Corpses but I did like Devils Rejects, and both of his Halloween remakes were amazing.

I've found something to enjoy about all of Rob Zombie's movies but find Halloween II and Lords of Salem to have the most problems. His stuff isn't perfect but he brings a lot of atmosphere and style to the table that a majority of modern horror lacks.

I remember when I when I saw HO1KC on the big screen I was blown away that it got an R rating instead of NC-17. It just seemed so hardcore and subversive!

Another thing was I had walked through Rob Zombie's haunted maze American Nightmare at Universal Studios a few years before and I remembered several of the props in the movie that were used in the maze.

I'm a big fan of HO1KC. I truly feel it is a horror masterpiece!

wow.. your flight just left..

Why the film is a topper..!

First two people died soon after or even before released.

Also if your older you have to love the actors.. They could either be old porn stars or actors from cult classics of yesteryear..

The music fits the era and it's a bit B-rated..

The story is twisted and usually has one or two things people never do in movies.. A pistol barrel in the vag.. skid marks on underware.. it's the small missed details in his first two flicks that make it for me..

Michael Barrymore as the chicken fauker..

Ever seen Hills have Eyes..!

didn't think so

I'm the opposite of a lot of you guys; I really liked House of 1000 Corpses but didn't really care for Devil's Rejects all that much. And speaking of snores, I think I fell asleep watching Lords of Salem
