Empire of The Ants

I watched this B horror recently from 77, and I was impressed. Nah by no means was it a good movie but the plot was really fun. Hilarious greenscreen style special effects and decent acting.

So I was wondering, How many of you have seen this?

What'd you think?

I saw this in the theaters way back in the '70's and I have it on a DVD. A fun silly monster movie. Nothing spectacular, but still entertaining.

I saw it for the first time on DVD. I have it in my collection. Felt the same way.

It was a decent film, special effects were not the greatest, but the film was enjoyable and not a "bomb". What else would you expect from a Bert Gordon film!

Good to see Robert Lansing from TV's 12 O'Clock High as the lead.

Yep! Some popcorn and a big coke and about 90 minutes of enjoyment - but nothing else.

Joan Collins is in it...

And not totally old in it either...looks pretty good.

Favorite scene is with the old people...when they hide in the shed...
Then mistakenly creep out only to find giant ants, LOTS, waiting for them.

Movie downgraded some to me when the plot is revealed and the ants start gassing people with hypnosis like outcomes...
I'd prefer they just ate the people...
Would held up better as more realistic...if giant ants can be deemed realistic at all.

Did you dig the dozens of circles they call the ant's point of view?
