Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Anyone played this one?

Started on it today. Really great atmosphere.

Haven't played an adventure game for a long time so I'm a bit rusty and have been getting stuck at a few points.

Yeh dude it's a PC game.

...still haven't got past where I'm stuck. Hopefully will figure it out eventually. Been to engrossed in Far Cry to bother spending to much time on it.

Just played through it about a month back, and I was pleased that the game didn't lose any of it's atmosphere and scary factors. All through the game, more than once, I was literally on my toes going through each level bit by bit, lurking in the corner waiting for the monsters to go away, hiding in cupboards hearing the footfalls of the creatures, the heavy breathing, the puzzles - it is a fantastic game, and a worthy entrant in the HDC Gaming Top 100 sticky.

Here's how the loading screen looked like on my computer -

My rating - * * * *

P.S. - If anyone wants a walkthrough or two, I am more than willing to send you one, just to make it easier. ;)

But doesn't it get annoying that you can't fight the monsters, that you have to hide all the time?

That's the main reason i never made it through either the "Siren"s or "Haunted ground".

If it hadn't been for that one factor i would've liked em both.

Then it wouldn't have been any different from any other survival horror FPS, would it?

Just imagine the helplessness when a monster confronts you and you have nothing to fight him! The only way you have, is to hide, and pray he goes away without noticing you.

I actually like adventure horror games because they thrive on atmosphere and build it nicely, besides making the player think when he confronts the puzzles in the game.

Unlike a FPS where your guns do the thinking for you. ;)
