Cropsey

Fascinating documentary that explores the "truth" around the urban legend Cropsey, the alleged boogeyman who kidnapped and terrorized children in Staten Island New York, which transitions into the actual conviction and trial of Andre Rand, who was accused of kidnapping multiple children in the 1980s.

Chilling and horrifying, the movie follows the families and friends who banded together to search for the missing youths as well as Willowbrook, the abandoned hospital that created the myth around the disappearances. There is some truly horrible, and sad found footage.

Highly recommended.

4.5/5.

Although it started like an interesting Hitchcockian thriller but at the end it turned out more than that or any other recent psycho-thriller movie.

Thanks for the rec, Sir! And this one is actually available on Netflix - Moving it to the top of the queue now. :D

P.S. You should really move to Boston so we can have movie nights together - Does your wife watch with you? Could we double-date?

Evil Aliens-More a horror-comedy and stars the horror channel's Emily Booth-a UK film that is set in Wales-I recommend it because it is very entertaining straightforward fun-Not one to watch if you want serious horror so I guess it depends what you are in the mood for. However don't confuse fun with light hearted.

Utterly LOVED Evil Aliens and think that more people on here should check it out... I thought that it was a delightfully gory blast - It's up there with the likes of FEAST and Dead Alive in regards to the type of horror humor, in my opinion... Gross, gory, and hilarious. Gore hounds should definitely check it out.

The Orphanage (El Orfanato) - It mixes horror/drama and excitement perfectly together. Really a great movie! 6/6
The Descent - One of the scariest horrormovies ever made imo. 6/6
Shutter (2008) - A good and scary remake, worth a watch. 5/6
the "Ju-On" series - Much scarier than the org. movies! 5/6
The Collector - SAW mixed with Cube, but more realistic. Great and exiting movie. 4.5/6
Urban Legend - One of the best "serial killer" movies. 6/6

Was thinking about this one today:

La rose de fer (The Iron Rose) (1972)

A terse, surreal, visually stunning horror film. Dream-like, with an impending sense of dread, Rollin's masterpiece unfolds intuitively, with the director's choices mirroring the bizarre, fascinating motivations of his characters. Or is it the other way around?

Now that sounds like my sorta film will check it out.

Finally saw The Children it was utterly unoriginal however the dread and starkness of its relentless pacing makes it a winner.

Didnt like that movie, boring and irritating. I've seen much better evil children movies.
