His impact on science fiction is undeniable. He pretty much invented the genre. So, there's a lot to thank him for. But, like a lot of sci fi writers he gets little too caught up in the novelty of the concepts he's dealing with to present interesting characters or write engagingly sometimes.

The world has Jules Verne in very high esteem, and it's not surprising to see him equally respected here too. A pioneer, an innovator of sorts, a visionary - and one of the foremost authors in sci-fi fiction if there ever was one.
