Yes, and I now know how to communicate with people who speak fluent nerd. Sometime we speak in code....literally. We type sentences on msn in C# logic. :D

The internet/forums have always been like that - I've being posting on an MMA site since about 1997 and alot of the behaviour you attribute to 4chan was happening there and prolly every other forum back then too and Newsgroups (BBoards before that again). There has always been trolls - there has always been forum 'in jokes' and jargon this is long before 4chan existed.
