Without a doubt it would be Inside, probably Seed, i did like The Strangers especially the ending.
Fond of monster films so Cloverfield made me happy.
Teeth was alot better than i thought it would be, as was Wrong Turn 2.
Nameless
Feast - was it 08 or 07?
Planet Terror
Il think of some more . . .
Feast was 2007, as was Inside, Seed, Nameless, and Planet Terror.
Edit: I just saw that you don't live in the USA so I dunno what your release dates are like over there. I was mostly commenting from my own local release dates, naturally.

And I haven't seen it....but really Seed?
Uwe Boll has never made a movie that I would consider in my top 1000 much less most enjoyable movie of the year. Even when he does the "So bad it's good", I still can't give him the kind of credit I give to actual comedies.

Not blasting your tastes...I'm just genuinely curious what makes it worth watching and one of the best movies of the year on top of that.

What did you like so much about it?

Oh i thought they were last year because i bought them all uncut, but it seems the uncuts are often released later.

Normally id agree with you on Boll but i read loads of good reviews so i eventually found the uncut and was very surprised that a serial killer film could still be disturbing and unrelenting. Didnt like the animal torture though, had to skip through that!

Our release dates are usually later than yours if the film is from US but other foreigns we usually get first. But thats all irrelevant now because of the net.

Oh and those werent my absalute favs just some i could remember of the top of my head. which mostly turned out to be the year before!!

Watch Mum and Dad - UK film just released and really worth a watch. Hailed as the best british horror this decade, although i think the Descent was abit better.

Im off to watch Cure now another film from late 90s, its 1am here and i only have time for one horror before bed, sweet dreams!

Home Movie is on a couple people's list? Where are you guys finding this? I had never even heard of it until this thread so I looked it up on imdb and there's less than 50 votes for it. I then searched netflix, redbox and ebay and came up with nothing. Where'd you get it? Or did you see it at a festival or soemthing? Is it out on DVD yet?

It's actually on Comcast On Demand right now - That's how NE and I were able to view it. I know that Des watched it originally in a festival in Canada. I'm really hoping that it'll get wider distribution soon.

No problem! You'll have to actually PAY for this one (but it's WORTH it)... It's under "Independent" in the "Movies and Events" section (I think).

Even though it didn't get a lot of play and it's about a completely different type of horror, the holocaust, I thought the best movie I saw all year was "The Boy In The Stripped Pajamas".

Home Movie was really good, but it's not really the kind of horror movie I like to watch. I was actually just talking with Flayed about this the other day, oddly enough.

For me, I like my horror "fun" or "scary" or both.
I didn't think Home Movie was fun or scary...it was just frustrating.
Good, yes...quality, yes....something I would watch again? No.

I recommend it at least once, though...and depending on the kind of horror you like, you may even want to rewatch it over and over.
