When something like that happens to the one who brought you into this world, it's a terrifying time. Sounds like you handled it just right! Really glad to hear she's fine, and I hope she will remain that way.

I wish you and your family the best.

I had one hell of a christmas too. My mom had chemo so she was already feeling like shit then she told me some things I didn't want to hear. Her boyfriend has been telling her to just die so everybody can be happy. He's had quite a history of beating her/ treating her like shit but I thought it had stopped. I wish I could blow his head off. She's been with him 13 years through the worst. She wanted to give up on christmas, when she is so close to beating the cancer. I hate that I can't do anything but support her.

Wow! It's really sad & shocking to hear that! Spend as much time you can with your mom and provide her the best support as you can. Though it may sound hard but try to be positive with her and give her hope for the best. I hope all things will be turn around in a positive & best possible way for your family.

thanks a lot. I'm trying to keep her spirits up. She's come a long way though. When we first found she had cancer it was in her colon, stomach lining, liver, and ovaries and now all is gone except for what's in her liver. There's just a lot of ups and downs. Some days she is convinced she'll beat it and other days she wants to give up. I think she can over come it. She has two little ones other than myself so she has even more reason to fight. She's been through hell and back in her life which has made her even stronger.

I'm starting to think that everything truly happens for a reason. I couldn't get into school this year which really put me down but now I think it was because I needed to be there for my mom before worrying about myself. I think that her cancer was brought on to bring us all closer together. We didn't have that great of a relationship. And I know when she beats it she'll be a whole new person and finally have another shot at a happier life.

Definitely! She'll beat it. And yeah...good & bad times comes one after another...so as you are now really facing some tough ones, I pray & hope from my bottom of my heart that the happiest & finest moments are waiting for all of you in coming days.
