What's so good about cemetary man?

That probably seems like a negative...I haven't actually seen it at all yet. I've recently decided to download (yes, I download some movies I am not certain about, with full intention of later purchase if they meet my personal standards...and no, I don't give a good god damn about it) some horror titles I've seen discussed on the forums that I've never seen myself. *Phantasm *Lifeforce *Cemetary man/?dellamorte dellamore? ...So CM is the one that's finished downloading, I'll need to wait 'til my speed's uncapped again in 2 days for the others. I've been considering watching CM with a friend tonight, and I was just wondering what makes this stand out for a zombie film? There seems to be nothing but good things said about it, but yeah...why?

			- Everett's character is badass, IMO. - It has a really absurd sense of humor - certainly not for everyone, but I found parts of it hilarious. - The ending. Craziness. If you like your movies to be straightforward, I can see this one being pretty unenjoyable. Its off the wall and really strange, doesn't make a lot of sense, but the visuals are cool and some of the thematic interpretations are really cool.

I just liked when he started shooting people like crazy and when the bus hit everyone.

It's far and away the strangest zombie movie ever made - as long as you're in the right mindset, I think you should dig it.

I think the worst thing about this movie is how much it gets built up. I, too, hadn't seen it until about a year ago and I had seen it rated so high and with so much acclaim that it set my expectations TOO high. I also didn't realize that it was an artsy flick, so while I was watching it I was totally confused. The ending is a mindfuck, which I didn't hate because of that reason....just that I was in the mindset for a different type of movie (i.e "zombie film"...do not think of it like that). In the end, it's not a favorite of mine. I suppose I can see why people like it...but I'll personally never watch it again. Just did nothing for me. I still think a lot of people just liked the chick in it. :p Since you listed them, I personally enjoyed Lifeforce and Phantasm a million times more, but again vastly different types of movies. -D Last edited by UngodlyWarlock; 12-07-2008 at 01:04 PM. |
