Not sure if I should pick up Dead Space of BioShock for my bf for x-mas. Has anyone played both? I think BioShock will probably win because he likes the 1940s feel of Rapture. Gameplay and plotwise which is better?

Just bought this today. Only played for a few minutes, but i'm liking it. I prefer first person shooters, and I thought this was one, but I got over the skepticism and was entranced by the soundtrack and battle capabilities. Having a little trouble adapting from FPS to TPS though.
