Myself, I'm the only "weird" one. :D I'm just not big on the torture/dissection stuff, but the rest is all good. :)
OOPS, I meant to add YOUR mom to the "that's cool" post, too :o

And there are actually quite a few people who are very uncomfortable with horror that crosses into the religious area...I find that quite interesting

My mother got me into horror. She's seen pretty much every fifties sci fi film ever made and went to see most slasher movies from the early 80s in the theater. The first movie she ever took me to was Creepshow when I was a baby. She writes mystery novels that she doesn't realize are ten times more ghastly than the standard mystery novel and has these sassy girl reporter protagonists investigating incredibly horrendous butcherings that don't quite match the person' s motivation in their brutality. "Don't you see, I chopped up your ex husband and cooked him so we could be together!" I inherited my lack of artistic propriety from her and I hope to write things as repugnant and off as she used to someday. She also worked on a book on the Witch trials which got destroyed in a flood because she didn't type the thing up. My stepfather is more into science fiction and fantasy, but really likes Cronenberg and the Hitcher. My younger brother, who's 17, likes Ju-On, Coffin Joe, Godzilla, vintage, cheesy and action horror, but expects a lot out of movie plots so doesn't really go in for slasher stuff. My six year old brother reminds me a lot of me at his age. The other day he saw the Dark Knight (because the theater in my family's central PA hometown gets movies several months late) and was really into Two Face. I was talking to them this weekend and my nine year old sister was horrified but my brother wished there was more Two Face and said"Two Face has the best face because half of it's all bone!" I nearly cried because of how much it reminded me of me.

My father liked horror. My wife use to like it...at least she told me she did before we got married...of course...she use to do a lot of things BEFORE we got married.

Out of my 4 kids.....most of them will watch it but my youngest [ 17 ] is into it the most. He loves the SAW movies.

my dog will sit with me and watch horror once in a while....even though he's usually pre-occupied with licking his balls.

My mother doesn't really watch movies much at all these days, she prefers to read. When she does watch horror, I would say she prefers movies with little to no gore, she wants more of psychological scare, she loves Hitchcock, for example.

My father again, more into the psychological, he can't stand anything with a lot of blood or gore (what he call gratuitous violence, which I find hilarious coming from someone that watches some of the action films he just loves  ), he doesn't like zombie films or slasher films. But he's what I call a casual horror fan, examples, he likes Jaws, he likes The Exorcist, The Silence of the Lambs and vampire movies if they have a fair amount of action in them. But he prefers action films. He finds my interest in horror kind of fascinating though...LOL.

I have cousin that is a lot like me when it comes to horror, though he steers clear of the "bad" films usually. But he likes a lot of Asian horror (he is actually the reason I got into Asian horror myself), '70s horror, etc.

And it should come as no surprise to anyone, my husband has almost identical taste to films that I do. We almost......ALMOST ;) always agree. He enjoys "bad" movies, he is also stuck in the '70s and '80s when it comes to horror. He doesn't seem to enjoy truly classic horror quite as much as I do though (or should I say, when I actually can convince him to watch it, he loves it, but its hard to get him to sit down and watch them sometimes).

And me, I like it all, as long as I am entertained, and its not TOO extreme.
