Very close, NE. Entombed while still alive was in Cask of Amontillado, but in House of Usher it was burial.

I am afraid Rod gets this one. Premature Burial was the common theme in both.

Rod with his first point! Try this one on for size folks...

Q: The first appearance of The Necronomicon was in the tale, "The Hound" by H.P. Lovecraft but the author of the book was mentioned in an earlier story. Name the author of The Necronomicon and the story in which he was first mentioned.
