Saw IV Unrated Director's Cut

Lions Gate Home Entertainment has officially announced Saw IV, which stars Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, and Betsy Russell.

The Darren Lynn Bousman directed horror will be available to in seperate rated (95 minutes) and unrated (98 minutes) editions on January 22.

Each will retail at around $29.95.

A Blu-ray edition will also be available for $39.99.

Each will include an audio commentary with Producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg and Executive Producers Peter Block and Jason Constantine, a second commentary with Director Darren Lynn Boussman and Actor Lyriq Bent, Darren's Video Diary, featurettes on the traps and props of the film, a SAW IV Music Video by "X-Japan", and a bonus deleted scene.


Blade: The Series 4-disc set

The hunt is on as Blade continues the battle against his immortal bloodsucking enemies in Blade: The Series, arriving on DVD from New Line Home Entertainment on February 12, 2008.

Now, the complete series featuring all 13 extended, unrated and “too-graphic-for-TV” episodes, will be available in an action-packed, four-disc set.

Based on the wildly successful Blade franchise, Blade: The Series follows Blade (Sticky Fingaz of the infamous rap group Onyx; Dead Presidents, Next Friday), a unique half-breed with all of the strengths of the vampire species but none of their weaknesses, in his quest to destroy the entire vampire population and save humanity.

Catacombs uncut

Lions Gate Home Entertainment has announced an uncut release of Catacombs, which stars Shannyn Sossamon, and Pink (Alecia Moore).

The disc will be available to own on DVD February 19, and should retail at around $29.95.

The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include an audio commentary with the Directors and Writers, a Descend into Catacombs making of featurette, and another featurette on the music.


Undead or Alive: A Zombedy on DVD

Image Entertainment presents the DVD release of South Park director Glasgow Phillips’ Undead or Alive on December 11th.

In this unusual take on the Old West, an innocent cowboy, Luke (Saturday Night Live's Chris Kattan) with his reluctant new partner, Elmer (James Denton, TV's Desperate Housewives) fleece a crooked sheriff and attempt to disappear in the desert. Only Geronimo's smart and beautiful niece Sue (Navi Rawat, TV's Numb3rs) can help them solve a mysterious Indian curse and escape from Sheriff Zombie's bloodthirsty posse. Will romance between Luke and Sue blossom or will the undead permanently keep them apart?

Video ETA lists the Ultimate Grindhouse collection for June 08'! I'm so happy waited and didn't buy Death Proof and Planet Terror before this baby hits the shelves. If it's anything like the Japanese set we'll be in for a treat.

The Weinstein Company and Genius Entertainment have announced the DVD specs for THE MIST, which arrives in a two-disc Collector’s Edition and a single-disc release March 25.

The most unusual feature on the double-disc set is an exclusive black-and-white presentation of the film (as befits its retro-monster-movie veneer) to go with the full-color widescreen transfer (with Dolby 5.1 sound).

Other extras that will appear on both editions are:

• Audio commentary by writer/director Frank Darabont
• Eight deleted scenes with optional commentary
• A Conversation With Stephen King and Frank Darabont featurette


Exclusive to the Collector’s Edition are:

• When Darkness Came: The Making of THE MIST featurette

- Alexandre Aja's P2 is coming to DVD via Summit Entertainment on April 8th.

Created by the folks behind the HILLS HAVE EYES remake and directed by Franck Khalfoun, P2 stars Rachel Nichols as a young businesswoman who becomes trapped in her building’s subterranean parking garage by a security guard (Wes Bentley) with a psychopathic fixation on her.

Bonus material includes a widescreen transfer with Dolby Digital audio, which will be supplemented by an audio commentary by the filmmakers and a trio of making-of featurettes.

Retail price is $26.99.

AQUARIUM: Redemption USA

BARN OF THE NAKED DEAD: Legend House

Three showgirls on their way to Las Vegas have car trouble and are stuck all night out in the desert. The next morning cheerful Andre (Andrew Prine) offers help in fixing their car. However, Andre is really a maniac with a lot of family problems; his mother ran out on him when he was a child so now he keeps kidnapped women chained up in his barn and trains them to perform circus tricks. Andre's father is still around, but because the old homestead is next to a nuclear test site he has been transformed into a raving homicidal mutant that Andre keeps locked up in a shed.

- Warner Home Video has announced 1-disc ($28.98) and 2-disc special editions ($34.99) of I Am Legend, which stars Will Smith.

Each will be available to own from the 18th March.

The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track.

The only extra material on the 1-disc release will be 4 animated comics (Death As a Gift, Isolation, Sacrificing the Few for the Many, and Shelter), and some DVD-ROM features.

The 2-disc special edition will include all that, along with an alternate theatrical version of the film with a "controversial" ending.

HD-DVD/DVD Combo and Blu-ray releases will also be available for $35.99 with all of the 2-disc features.
