Talking Remakes

If anybody is willing, please list all the remakes that have occured from original horror films
Please list the ones that suck and why and list the ones that rock and why.
Anybody who contributes I greatly thank you and I appreciate your time and effort.
Thank you,
~~~*demonv666*~~~
By the way, if anybody is wondering why I posted this, because I have a persuasive essay and I would like horror fans to contribute their ideas.
Also, if there is another thread about this, please inform me, because I could not find one.
Night of the living dead - I really liked this one, but I think that was because Romero actually Like it
The Ring- Remanke of a Japanese horror film called Ringu. I like the ring because it was spooky and different
Texas Chainsaw Massacre- LOVED the remake. It was originally supposed to be another sequal but producers didnt think audiences would want another TCM "sequel" so the just called it a remake.
House on Haunted Hill- Loved this one too. Great atmosphere combined with some Manson music and spiffy effects. And lets face it, Famke Jannsen is incredible
13 Ghosts- Didnt care much for this one. I thought the glasses thing was a bit far fetched
Godzilla (was considered horror in the 60's)- Mathew Broderick vs a giant lizard. Uh-uh
Numerous Dracula and Frankenstein remakes. Some are good, others not
Thats all I can think of. Evis, Arioch or ProPain should know more
Greatest remakes:
"The Thing"
"Night Of The Living Dead"
"The Blob"
"The Fly"
Shitty remakes aren't even worth mentioning.
Remake....
Dawn of the Dead - remade but is totally different from the original. The original is a classic and fantastic film. The remake is very hollywood. They should not have used the Dawn of the Dead name. The only similarity is the setting of a mall. The zombies move fast, unlike Romero zombies, and some parts are a bit far fetched, like the zombie baby. Generally a good movie, but with the title it has was expecting something much better.
Hope that helps - sounds like an interesting essay.
