Hitman the movie

20th Century Fox's feature film adaptation of the Eidos videogame Hitman has shifted release dates.

The movie, starring Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47, was supposed to open October 12. It will now target the Thanksgiving holiday box office by opening November 21.

An official announcement on the new release date could be made as early as next week.

The trailer to the much-anticipated and promising video-game adaptation can be seen here :-

Yeah. Bit lame really. We see 47 shaving his head which makes no sense. 47 is completely bald from birth/creation. Why would a world class hitman keep shaving his head when he has a barcode on the back of it? Surely a barcode and a completely shaven head sticks out a bit more than a normal head of hair.

It's ridiculous, because they obviously have the head shaving scene so they dont have to give Olyphant a head piece for every scene or use CGI - Just to save time and money.

I can understand that, but why not just get an actual bald person? They've ruined the image of Hitman, he looks ridiculous with stubble all over his head and also shows that in the movie Hitman has no intelligence, because anyone can see that keeping your head shaved with a barcode showing isnt the best idea if you dont want to get caught - whereas in the game theres nothing he can do about that except find a hat.

Why didnt they give the part to Bateson? The character model is based on him, he's actually bald and he is the voice actor for every game...Apparently he wasnt even in the list to audition - Fucking cocks.

Looks okay as a movie though, however it sucks if they make him out to be some sort of good-guy. I prefer the arch-angel/fallen angel type persona, where he is doing good by killing evil men, but hes still a cold-blooded mofo about it who will kill anyone to not get caught - and get his money.

Saw the trailer at Halloween Fri night, looked good to me, I'm kind of stoked on this...I think Olyphant can pull it off.

I just saw this trailer again and even though they show 47 with a razor I don't think he was just shaving his head. I base this simply on the fact that it looks like they show small clones, a bunch of bald children, toward the beginning of the trailer. Unless they shave all the kids then I think he was "born" bald.

Well, i'm not going to be as pessimistic as Xtrava.

But.....

It DOES look like something you've seen more than once before, like Nikita/Point of no return etc.

And Timothy Olyphant is too young to play The Hitman, imo.

Other than that i think it looks quite entertaining.

Not a big action movie fan, but the games ARE made by danish people, so I guess i have to see it. :)

I saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago, didn't mention it as I assumed someone else would have posted about it.

Personally:

I can't help thinking about all the other movies which have been based on games, i.e. they are nothing like the games - Resident Evil anyone? hopefully this will be a bit more like the game and not just another pile of movie excrement.

October 10, 2007 - French director Xavier Gens is making his stateside feature filmmaking debut with 20th Century Fox's videogame-to-film Hitman but will the cut that's released in theaters this Thanksgiving be a watered down take on the notoriously violent Eidos game? One report claims it will be, while our sources say it ain't so.

According to TwitchFilm.net, "Fox has yanked control" of the film away from Gens due to the graphically violent nature of the cut that he delivered. The site claims "apparently after seeing Gens' cut of the film the studio removed him from the project and placed Nicolas De Toth in control of a new edit of the film."

TwitchFilm's source informed the site that De Toth, who re-cut Live Free or Die Hard to earn a PG-13 rating, is expected to deliver a "bloodless version of the film assembled with no input whatsoever from Gens."

Studio sources confirmed that De Toth has been hired as an editor, but not "controlling the project" as TwitchFilms stated. "Director Xavier Gens is still working on the film. The film still has intense action and will definitely be rated 'R.'" Our source strongly denied that Fox is softening the final cut and called the original report untrue. They emphasized that it will still be a true "R" and a not a "bloodless version".
