Misery
I just watched this movie again last night since it was on TV. Man that B@*%h is nuts! I don't know if it would be considered a horror, more of a Thriller I guess and I never read the book I am sure it's 10 times better but that movie is pretty wack.

Yeah, the book has some key differences (inc. hacking the man's legs off with an axe instead of just breaking them with a sledgehammer), but the movie is a pretty fun time.
Kathy Bates was awesome!

I prefer the book, but there is no doubt that this one of the finest film adaptations of a King novel. They did a fabulous job, Kathy Bates is chilling, she definitely brought the character to life, a little too well....LOL...:p And I am also a James Caan fan.

I don't know how lovely he is, but I think he is a good actor....;)
I don't care for The Shining, a solid film to be sure, but I love the book too much I think, and since it is very much Kubrick's The Shining, I am not a hug fan. I mean, Jack starts out nuttier than a fruitcake; in the book, the descent into madness is slower than that. Stand by Me is excellent and one of my favorite films. The Shawshank Redemption and The Green, also very strong films. My favorite King adaptation, besides Stand by Me, is probably The Dead Zone. Cronenberg did a wonderful job directing, Walken was perfect in the role, and I think it was very faithful to feel of the book, even if some things just had to be left out (Stillson is far scarier in the book, for instance). IT, my favorite King book! :D I enjoyed the miniseries, but not nearly as effective as the book, it just couldn't have been. what with the restrictions of television. (I was also afraid of clowns when I was a kid, I think because I watched Poltergiest when I was very young ;) ). |

i know what you mean about the shining.......but in the book he is a tad off it in his head anyways........supose they dont have the time to explore the descent into maddness as completely but jack Nicholson's expressions anyways are a tad weird.....love the guy!!!
it is fantastic just ive got a slaughter before for saying i love it......i think the tv series....which was released as a movie....but its still shown in the diffrent parts when it is on tv......is really good for the time they had to cover it........and as a kid it really did capture what it was like to be a kid........got all the fears right......i dont think it would work as well if you watch it for the first time as an adult.......obviously it will a bit but for me i gotta watch things as a kid to be able to go back to the childhood scares |
