the new texas chainsaw massacre (may have spoilers)

i thought that i'd get everybodies perspective on the new TCM movie. i thought that it was good but i thought that they could have sped it a long a little faster. but over all i good movie with a good ammount of gore. my favorite part was when leather face put salt on that uys leg that he had already cut off. ouch

Upsetting: the ending...

No chainsaw dance by Leatherface... I wanted to see that... instead he clips her car with his saw, then just kinda stands there mad...

Overall: Incredible...

Sadly, I was the only one clapping at the end in the whole theatre...

*FADE OUT*

Spoiler!!!!

My only beef with the movie is how the hell could Leatherface swing that big ass chainsaw with one hand?!

I thought that it was far better than any of the sequels, and did a great job of capturing the mood - heat, dust, isolation, dark and dank, eventually blackest night and sheer horror.

Leatherface was too demonized, IMHO. One of the reasons that the first film was so good was that he was (almost) a sympathetic character. The new TCM had Leatherface as a typical relentless unkillable slasher antihero. I wanted to see him dance too.

If it were to be as good as the first one they would have had to bring Franklin back.

Didnt like the new one at all. The sheriff fella was OK, and the gore was pretty good, but thats about all that it had going for it IMO.

R. Lee Ermey is awesome! That dude is so funny when he's playing the crotchety old asshole (He's sorta been typecast as that, but why not? He's awesome as it.)

All in all, I thought TCM remake was pretty good for a remake that didn't need to be made to begin with. It's right up there with Dawn as one of the better remakes in recent memory but like I said, it wasn't neccesary to begin with.
