The Evil Dead. It's in a completely different league.

And by the way, try the search function. This kind of thread is done about once a week.

I haven't seen "Evil Dead II" yet, but I've heard that was the point that the trilogy actually became horror-comedy.
But comparing "The Evil Dead" with "Dead Alive", I liked "Dead Alive" better. "The Evil Dead" had a great creepy feel in it and the scene with a tree raping a girl has got to be one of the most disturbing scenes in horror movie history. But "Dead Alive" was hilarious and full of blood, both movies are low-budget, but Jackson's zombie gorefest was a little better.
It seems I am the only one on Peter's not Sam's side. :D

I consider ED2 to be superior to its predecessor simply becuase it was more a refined version of The Evil Dead rather than a sequel, although it is a very close run thing.Braindead is all about splatter and laughs where as The Evil Dead and ED2 retain more purely "Horror" elements in which the humour is threaded.I do love all three movies though.

Evil Dead 2. What else, with a screen name like mine?

Although I love Braindead (I just can't get used to calling it Dead Alive!) I would still rate Bad Taste as my favourite Peter Jackson low-budget horror. That scene with the exploding sheep is one of the funniest moments in cinema history.
