I tried it a few times...even bought a book on lucid dreaming at one point because it sounded fun to become conscious in a dream and make stuff happen. The book had some methods to use, and some of the methods worked! It took practice though.

Have you ever tried to direct your own dream..
force your self consience to make it go the
way you want it to.??
Like the ones where your being chased by somebody..
have you ever stopped ..turned around (in your dream)
and ran that mutha down in your car or something like that??huh??

I heard..(rumor mill)..that someone did try that and it
drove them crazy.
I've tried it also......I'll concentrate on Evangeline Lilly.....

But she always morphs into Kathy Bates....talk about nightmare.

Hear it comes, right, but I've done that. I'm not saying that I'm ultra cool, because everyone can or has done that, whether they remember it or not. I think it depends on what state of REM (which is the state you're in when you dream). I suppose that if you're more towards the waking side of REM state, you're more able to do that type of dream management.

I mean, in the dream that started this thread, Vod had a sense that he was dreaming. Sometimes when you know you're dreaming you can manipulate the events in a dream, sort of like a defense mechanism, and sometimes you can't. I honestly think it depends on how close to consciousness you are without being outside of the REM state.

You've probably done this yourself, Forgey, but you may not remember.

I had a friend once that thought she was ultra cool because she had changed perspectives in her dream. She had gone from being herself, to this other guy across the parking lot (the locale of the dream), to an old lady. I was like, "Dude, that happens to everybody." Dreams are really neat, because while we all dream differently, there are all kinds of experiences to be had. Everybody has them at one point or another. That's just life and sleep and shit.

Where it gets hairy are people who have or claimed to have had prophetic dreams or have "walked" into someone else's dream or their presence if that person is awake (most of the time, it's not deliberate, but there are a few people that say they do it on purpose...I don't know. I believe in stuff like that, but then again, I don't really trust people. I've never done it. I've never heard of anyone doing whom I trust to be honest with me so, that's up for grabs).

For some strange reason, the majority of my dreams (be they good or bad) have something to do with my teeth falling out.

I do it as well, only sometimes I'll change the dream. Like if I'm dreaming I'm a cop in a shootout I'll think that it's not intense enough and put myself in a war scenerio instead. Sometimes I'll change what I'l eating or smelling in a dream or even have moral issues (weird) with doing things in a dream. My dreams are always weird anyway, doesn't matter if I change them or not. I just don't go deep enough into sleep sometimes.

Usually represents a fear of losing a part of yourself - closing a door on a chapter of your life. You're getting ready to move, right?

Awake or asleep?

Wow that sonds very creepy Vod. I especially got freaked out about the non-makeup clown face and man arms. I have had many nightmares in my life, but they usually end up being forgotten, or they aren't as bad as shakeing me from sleep. However have you ever had a night terror. Well one time I went to bed and opened my eyes, I was asleep yet I was awake too, its an in between state. Reports have been done about this and people usually see things that are so real that you are just horrified. Well back to my story I opened my eyes and there standing along side my bed was an old man. He was dressed in black with a old quaker looking hat on. He was sort of Poltergiest man looking. He grinned and just stared at me. I froze stiff, I couldn't move, could hardly breath. It seemed like it lasted forever. The scary part was I knew I was awake but I couldn't move speak, just stay there. After about five minutes of staring at this man I awoke and was out of breath-NIGHT TERROR.

Let the fallen dreams become the nightmares of terror, or the reality of our imagination.
