what happened to austin? well, i blame the SouthXSouthwest that and the movie Slackers. . . they made it 'hip' and then the dot.com folks moved in and the real estate prices went through the roof and all the bars went commercial and sixth street became a big retail strip and then the dot.com companies all flopped and while the prices stayed high most of the live music venues started to fail and now its just a big husk of a formerly very cool place to live. . . that and the football championship -that screwed everything up
