I think this is the first horror remake that has surpassed the original. I'm 90% sure most people on the board don't agree that it's better than the original but whatever.

I did enjoy the remake more. I got a little bored with the original. The remake had better pacing and way better effects.

I actually havent got around to seeing this yet, but I really cant imagine likeing it more than the original. I thought the original was fantastic, easily Wes Craven's best movie besides NOES.

With all the great reviews its been getting from horror fans though, Im kinda interested in seeing it...

I didn't want to see it when I saw the preview, but my friend rented it and I was curious because I saw a few members mentioning it.

I liked the original Hills have Eyes but The Serpent and the Rainbow is my favorite Wes Craven movie by far. You probably won't like the remake more than the original but it's definately worth seeing, Aja was extremely creative with it.

I think both are good in there own ways, but the remake is definately better for effects. I kind of like the story for the first better.

yes, i know so much is so ordinary, so coarse, and so vulgar. but survival is simply not enough. nowhere near.
what's the point of surviving? survive what? don't you realize you're going to die? f*ck your missions, your crusade.
i demand and expect quality.
right now, once and for all.
quality time.

They didn't have makeup in the 70s? How do you explain Tammy Faye Bakker? Oh well... effects are everything.

By the way, I did like it, one of the better remakes in recent days.
