Hello, everyone.

I didn't watch a horror movie last. In fact, it was Hunt for Red October. Predator, I think, is John McTiernan's best.

Before that, I saw Philip Kaufman's Invasion of the Body Snatchers for the first time. It was brilliant. Impressive from the story down to the characters.

It's a pity that nowadays, films of this caliber are rarely ever made anymore.

Devil's Backbone...

What did you think of the atmosphere of the film?

You have this innocent, darling little kid staring at an enormous bomb stuck halfway into the ground in the middle of the school's quad. Plenty of shadows, just enough of the spectre to keep you rattled.

Then there's the millieu. Franco's Spain. Treachery is everywhere, no stability. Everybody's got an angle. Murder is everywhere. So amidst the survival, our little main character's been chosen by spooky-boy to set things right. Nice world, eh?

The Car (1977).

Great horn, and what is that in the flames at the end?
