I really don't think it would work out if I went out with someone who hated horrors...........pretty much all I watch. And...........I would probably think they were wussy...........lol :p

I really do like horror, but I must admit that my boyfriend likes it more than I do. I think that is one thing about our relationship...though we have our differences, we do have an awful lot in common. I don't really like alot of the gorey (sp?) stuff...but I must admit I love to be scared! It is very exhilirating....;)

My friends don't have a problem with it nor does it effect their perception of me at all.

My bitch loves horror, she's gotta - it's all I let her watch...and if she talks outta line about it, I just smack her in her fuckin' mouth for not knowing better, tell her if she ever speaks without being spoken to again that I'll slit her god damned throat, then throw her down and lock her in the basement for a day or two time-out.
Meanwhile, here in reality...My girl actually LOVES horror, not QUITE so much as me, but she gets into it. Actually, our tastes in films overall are very much alike...seldom does one of us want to see something the other won't watch in the first place. We got a lot of things in common I guess, and common ground always has a posetive effect on a relationship, IMO...I dunno, maybe it just saves on argument time?
Of course there's the odd occasion that one of us will wanna watch something the other doesn't...at which point one of us will fuck off onto the playstation or pc, or get our ass into the kitchen for the duration.
As for anyone elses negative impressions on the horror genre causing them to take on a similarly negative impression of me...well, if I ever start caring, I'll let you know...

My wife doesn't care one way or the other - though she occassionally says "not another fucking horror movie!"

What kills me is that she likes to "out" me at formal business parties and dinners and shit - she'll just say - "Oh Richard always drags me to these horror movies that he loves so much" - I just get these blank/icy stare from the old bastards I work with. What's the proper response to these stares (assuming, of course, that you don't have a chainsaw handy?)

My Wife is kinda "relegious" and although she will watch them with me every now and then, she is way to easily scared. Hell, White Noise scared her. She actually screamed twice during the movie. She didn't find it very funny when I told her it was maybe one step above The Little Rascals on the fear level. I even had to walk with her to the bathroom after she saw Darkness Falls!

She hates all movies that has anything to do with Satan, Demons, posession, or depicts the pentigram (such as the menu screen on Doom 3). She has watched a several of them with me (I actually got her to watch the Exorcist with me after 2 years) and they usually mess with her for a few days.

I have a collection of Gargoyles and a few other horror statuettes...which she loathes...on shelves around my desk...and she can't stand to look at them. I finally had to put one (A bust of a female vampire) up because she said it was evil and always staring at her, giving her the creeps.

The really weird thing is, I have evil tattoos covering my back and arms...my whole back from neck to waist to side to side...is nothing but zombies/awaking dead and other depictions of horror and it don't bother her. I have several "Paul Booth" style pieces on me...which, if you know who Paul Booth is...is extremely evil in presentation.

Well, at least when I want peace and quiet away from everyone, all I gotta do is go to my bedroom and put in a horror flick with demons in it and I get 90 minutes of bliss!

Hey, they say opposites attract...That's a good thing right? :D
Definately different from my first wife...who was a Wiccan...Huh?

I agree that opposites attract-I have almost nothing in common with my husband.I think it also has to do with respect, even though your wife is not totally in-line with what you're into-it sounds like she respects it and vice-versa.That's a great thing to see.
The Exorcist is a movie hard to watch for me and I love 90% of the Horror out there....
Some guy I used to know who claimed he was a christian with"special abilities" thought I was demon-infested.(I was 19,and what 19 year old doesn't like to party? It wasn't wierd!)Which would have been really funny if he hadn't scared the shit outta me by trying to "exorcise" me.
I think he is an executive at the 700 Club now.
