sorry if i came off as a bit condescending - I think its just that I walked out of LOD and felt it was just about perfect. Sure, I was taken aback by the way we sort-of-sympathized with the zombies - but not completely enough to cheer the eventual slaughter. But, as I thought about it I realized the film was making a really great political point and so I walked out really loving the film.
Needless to say, lots of people I know felt let-down by the film and I've felt this desire to champion the film. As for Austin's point about "quality" - to be honest I don't really know what "sacrificing quality" would mean. Really, I think of this film was either more "frightening" or more "action-packed" it would undermine the whole point. (A bit like Natural Born Killers, which apparently was meant to be a critique of violence in media but ended up glorifying its object of critique). But, of course, everyone leaves a film with their personal feeling - I'm not meaning to say anyone's opinion is right/wrong/better/worse - just that I saw the film differently and wanted to argue for it. **note: no siggy**

Nevermind. Mystery solved. I found the article. I seriously can not believe this article, because this movie was no where near a thrill, or even horror. It was a comedy with werewolves.
