Being a writer, i am one of the biggest proponents of free speech alive. But I believe in Intelligent free speech. If you dont have something useful, interesting, intelligent or relevant to say, shut your fucking mouth.
Absurdity is funny. Absurd death in a monty python movie is funny. Seeing the bad guy get caught in machinary and torn to pieces in amovie can be funny. A little kid getting raped, no matter the context, is NOT funny. Back to the free speech thing, people who prove they are to ignorant to maintain a decent outlook should have it revoked. I do not believ in the KKK being allowed to march. Fuck them. This is why i am not a cop, because i would refuse to protect those assholes. I dont believe serial killers, child molesters, serial rapists, or any other socipaths deserve to be treated like humans. Their entire existance is non-human. Thye lack compassion and the ability to feel any empathy for anyone othger than themselves. As a social creature, those things are part of what make us human, so that makes them somehting inhuman, and therefore not afforded human rights. The funny thing is that they do it to stand out and be different, not realizing that everyone around them is already doing it, so they neither stand out nor are different.

There is a line to be drawn. hitler managed to tie up the western world in a war for years simply because of what he had said. Words have much more power than a lot of people want to accept. Try explaining to a fat kid who gets picked on mercilessly by everyone that "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words can never hurt you." They will probably say "Bullshit. You dont have to deal with this abuse, so you have no idea how much they sting." Speech is more powerful than actionin some cases. Does freedom of speech cover a father twelling his 4 year old daughter that she will have nice tits someday, and he cant wait? Does it protect a teacher from calling a failing student stupid? Does it protect someone saying that they ar eplanning on blowing up a major building? Does it protect some dumb fuck screaming "Fire" in a crowded theater? Freedom of speech is great, but stupidity should be illeagal, and therefore stupid words should be punishable by law.
