OMG!...I love these movies...I have House (Ding Dong You're Dead), House 2 (The Second Story), House 3 (Which actually has NOTHING to do with the other 'House' movies (Just like 'Halloween 3, Season Of The Witch')...It's called 'The Horror Show')...and House 4 (Which SHOULD have been the actual 'House 3' movie, but since 'The Horror Show' used that title, they had to call it 'Part 4')

Here's the info on them...

House...1986

House 2...1987

House 3, The Horror Show...1989

House 4...1992

As for what type of movies they are and the gore factor...Hmmm...Think 'Evil Dead' movies...They are a LOT like those, except the Evil Deads get better and better, these just kinda go like most other sequels...The first one is the best, and the other two lose a little bit as they go along, but still great in my opinion...They are kinda funny, too...The second one is the funniest

Now I wanna go watch them again :D

I have to agree with the above post, movies are good and lame at the same time. the second one is quite hilarious I must say. Especially the old guy "shootin' blanks" as he says haha. On the same token how fun would it be to have all these different 'worlds' connected to your house that you could go explore and fight baddies in?

i thought House 1 was ok.
It was populated by TV personalities which i never like.
The 'comedy' was distracting. The war scenes were bad especially when you consider the quality war films that were out at the time.

(personal peeve .. i hate low budget war films and sequences)

If it was redone as a serious horror film it might be ok ..

House 2 looked at what made house 1 a success and rehashed the formula. I though it was crap (and i saw it at the theatre)

i have a real problem with TV actors (esp. comedy series). They have the same style as stage actors .. they project too much and have pauses in their delivery like they are waiting for laughs. Its very unnatural and bugs the hell out of me.
Occasionaly an actor can make the transition successfully but its rare.
