It's a TRICK...
Yep, I'm only reposting this thread under a different name...this actual thread (well, the bit that follows this anyway) has been up about a week and has only got 5 views - I have this theory that a lot of people HATE gamecube (Hey, I did before I played one) and have ignored it due to it's formal title which was "I borrowed a gamecube"...Anyway, I just wanted some feedback on the whole subject matter anyway.
READ ON - Now, while I have to admit that the specs of this system are pretty cool (it's own graphics card and all), and it can pull off pretty awesome visuals, I myself wouldn't purchase one simply due to the fact that there's not a WHOLE LOT of games on it that a: I can't play on pc or ps2 b: That I really wanna play anyway... And then there's the whole thing where I can't yet get my hands on pirated games for it, but hey.... So, my friend who recently purchased an xbox gave me his gamecube for a while. Good thing is was that the 3 games I PRIMARILY wanted to play were all in his collection, those being R.E.0, R.E.1.RM, and eternal dark: sanitys requiem, among his other games. So, I've not yet got into the res evil remake...I have however been playing R.E.0, which I have to say looks great, and has added some originality to the series. The "two player" concept is also quite interesting...Strange game it is, but not quite as strange as eternal dark...I won't go into the many kinds of fucked up things this game attempts to do to your head, but rest assured, there's plenty. It works more or less like a more supernatural kinda resident evil, but that description doesn't really cut it...lots of scares, splatter and mindfucks going on. Now I also checked out a game that I swore I would fucking hate. It's called Zelda: The windwaker (or windwalker maybe?), anyway yeah, it's the cel-shaded one. All I have to say is that cel shading has sure come a long way since jet-set radio...I think I have found a game that I rate as highly as the original and the snes zelda...Very good game is all I'm gonna say, challenging, CRAZY looking and genuinely quite funny in some parts... So yeah, I'm still not gonna buy a GC, but I'm glad to have had the opportunity to check these few titles out....I dunno, maybe if you guys can hire one out wherever you are, it'd be an idea, at least just for a look... - B. So yeah, are there any gamecube players out there that have played any of the games mentioned above either?

Ask bloodrayne, she seemed t be plenty into it.
I'm mainly digging the zelda game at the moment...re4 should be cool, zero was pretty decent, I just didn't have the tolerance to bother finishing it...I kinda got a short fuse, and just erased the savegame after a while...

I played 2 games i adored on Gamecube. Get Eternal Darkness for sure because it is probably the best game on the Gamecube next to the Resident Evil remake so if you have it definetly pick up RE remake and Eternal Darkness

Well, I didn't finish it, so I can speak for only the first 5-6 "stages"
The controls ARE easy to use, the combat system is very simple once you get used to it, which doesn't take long, It basically revolves around you selecting what area of your enemies body you want to focus your attack on. It's all a little strange, as when certain monsters confront you, you get scared, and the higher your meter of fear (or insanity?) gets the stranger things start to look, the screen swaying back and forth is a little disorienting though. hey've thrown in a good few mindfucks during the game for good measure, one's that don't fuck with your character, ones that fuck with YOU - but I'm not saying any more there. The overall gameplay is "interesting", you play as a different character in every "chapter" as the female lead goes through the "chronicles" detailed in this well, evil book thing...you also get to play as her. Every character lives in a different time, so you get different kinds of weapons and scenery. Excellent looking game, great "feel" to it, and a prtty damn interesting storyline. The sense of impending doom given at the very beginning of the game DOES keep you wondering... That's all I got...I think if you HAVE a gamecube, it's worth a look...

I own a Gamecube. At first, I didn't really think it was going to much fun. Actually I bet if I had a choice I wouldn't got it. See, I got it as a gift, so I had no say in what system to buy. Anywho, it was actualy better then I thought. The first time I saw the controler I went brain-fried. But I'm better with it now. I got with the Gamecube a game. Super Mario Sunshine. Which was fun. What can I say? I like Mario. He's a classic. A while later I got Turok: Evolution, which was fun. Now I had a Playstation 2 at the time and a choice to get the game for Gamecube or Playstation2. But I picked Gamecube because the only game I had for it was Super Mario Sunshine. And just recently I got Star Wars: Rebel Strike III. And it was fun. I look at the Gamecube as a game built for mainly kids. I may not be a kid, but I still enjoy the kidish games. Well, I suppose their kidish. I'm not saying theres ONLY children playable games, nor am I saying the games are like Barney or something. But alot of the games are suitable for all ages. Like Mario, Star Wars, ect. But like I said, there are a few Teen games. Now if I never goten a Gamecube and played it once before, I think I would be interested in buying it. But right now I have my sights on X Box. I so want to play Halo.
Also, Gamecube is made soley apon playing games. The lack of DVD/CD playback, and a hard drive and internet connectivity out of the box may make it seem like the Gamecube is lacking in extra features. But remember, at $199 it is $100 cheaper than the Xbox and PS2. Kind of makes you wonder why you paid $299 for a PS2 (which, in addition to having only two controller ports, also lacked a hard drive and internet connectivity at launch, while Gamecube has four), doesn’t it? Plus, the Gamecube has the added ability to link with multiple Gameboy Advance systems via the controller port and special link cables for added game features, such as hidden game menus in multiplayer games.
