Last night, I dine/ditched.

So last night we got together with my brother and went out to eat.
Are at a Malaysian place. Not the best Ive had, and they didn't have my 'teh halia' but it was fairly nice, rotis were great, they did some amazing chicken too.
After the meal the wife took baby for a change, and we waited for the bill.
My brother handed me some cash and I set about looking for who/where to pay.
I didn't see a counter and the greeter/host wasn't at their little podium thing, so we continued looking, Bill in hand ($98, btw).
Then I looked around and realised we weren't any longer in the confines of the restaurant itself, see there's some inside the doors, some outside.
Then, this feeling just took me.
Keep walking. Just see what happens. I said the same to my brother.
So we did. And that was it. Could have turned back, just didn't.

I feel guilty to a point. I mean it was no small place...so not *that* guilty.
Part of me felt pretty exhilarated too, and almost "good". I know. Somewhat juxtapose.

So yeah, not premeditated...just so happened.

yeah...kinda agree with zero....understand the impulse...and obviously a bit neglected by the server....but I also would feel very guilty on the "dine & dash" thing. But i wasn't there and the scenario might have seemed like a "fuck it" kind of thing to do at the moment.

Here it's usually a bit different, in a fair few circumstances anyways.
We don't really do the whole "service continuity" bit. I like it when that happens but it's few and far between.
We actually had about 5 different people serve us. Ha, so yeah if that's the case, at least they'd have got to split the bill eh.

But i wasn't there and the scenario might have seemed like a "fuck it" kind of thing to do at the moment.

It was kind of a curiousity thing. "What if?" kinda deal.

Actually, I condone this kind of thing. I don't think it's anything you want to do regularly, but impulsive bad behavior is good for a person as they grow a bit older. That shit will keep ya young! I'm not pro-crime wave or anything, but a little adrenaline rush like a dine n ditch sounds like a bit of bad fun.

Ha, if anything this'll tide over the urges to do more "bad" things...unless I've developed an addiction without knowing it...I mean, I feel pretty much normal, but y'never know.

You rascal. Can't say I've done it myself, but you're right that it's less likely to have come out of the server's pay cheque. Same in the UK, multiple servers might attend a table and I can say for certain that even in the dodgier restaurants/bars I worked in, staff haven't been held accountable for customers avoiding bills.
