I don't know if you know the original comic book story, but Ultron is a robot, with a computer brain, programmed to help humanity, and it's because it's a computer that it gets so completely wrong. This bizarre characterization is helped by making Ultron look, sound and act like a robot. And it makes it different than 99% of Hollywood films today. So the change to a wisecracking Spader really hurt the film to me.

As much as I love James Spader, Ultron wasn't at all like he should have been. But Tony Stark created him instead of Hank Pym, so did you really expect accuracy? And don't even get me started on how much of a fuckwad Tony suddenly became in AOU...

But after how painful AOU was to watch with the team fighting among themselves... I do not look forward to the third installment...
