Man's Ear Bitten Off At 'Carnivore's' Bar

Kurta Claims Self-Defense

New Kensington, Pennsylvania -- The bar is named "Carnivore's" and police said the act was much the same.

A New Kensington man is headed to trial after he allegedly bit the ear of another bar patron.

Police said Tom Kurta, 27, was involved in two fights last month at the Oakmont bar.

During the second fight, he allegedly bit Dennis Moore's ear.

Moore said the attack was unprovoked.

However, Kurta's lawyer said his client fought back in self-defense.
