halloween 3 ... bad movie or just annoying because no michael?

i would check the other thread but it's not the answer i asked. i didn't ask if it worth watching ... i asked if it was a bad movie or just annoying that it's not about michael. basically if it was just called season of the witch would it be concidered bad or does it just piss people off that they tried a movie in a totally different direction?

A. It has many interesting and entertaining qualities. And atmosphere! B. I own it, and I like watching it. C. I'm not annoyed that Michael Myers isn't in it. I thought the series should have had more films like this in it--most of the sequels are gawdawful, and far worse than this film.

I thought it sucked when I saw it the first time I watched it around 15 years ago when I first got into the Halloween series, Mainly because there was no Michael, But I've seen it on late night tv since and I liked a little more, but it's not a great movie.

I think its a good movie on its own. plus i really like the tag. "the night no one came home" heh heh

I guess when H3 was made they were not thinking of making anymore with Myers.I like the movie, i never gave it much of a chance until recently either. Check it out you might like it,i suggest rent not buy!

Which, I'm assuming basically translates to: "Why did they make a Halloween movie without Michael Myers in it?"

I know that's not the question your asking, but before anyone jumps into the thread and asks it I'll just go ahead and explain.

The Halloween series was intended to be original movies that came out every year or so that deal with Halloween and things that happen on the holiday. Michael Myers was never intended to be the franchise villain. However, it seems everyone in the world thought that was the case, and a Halloween movie without Michael didn't go over very well, hence they brought him back.

Now, on to your question, Ginger. Halloween III is not a terrible movie. I'm assuming 90% of the bad rap comes from people not knowing the above when they first see it. It's nothing to right home to the folks about, but it's good cheesy fun. The Silver Shamrock theme song will drive you mad. As far as it being bad just because Michael Myers isn't in it, no. I think a lot of people would agree that IV & V might have been better if it weren't for Michael Myers.

maybe people would have been less annoyed by the change if they'd only made on movie with michael then switched to something else after. like have every movie been unique. i assume after 2 movies with the same person people assumed the 3rd would have michael too then didn't give it a chance when they found out. i don't know why i always skipped over it. now i can't wait to see it.

probably pissed that the main lead was an older guy and not some 21 year old soap opera star.

as i remember the main gal in that was a looker too ...

i really liked 4 and 5, maybe because i liked jamie and her storyline. 6 was meh and i was mad that jamie was killed off.

Seems to be a lot of people wondering if #3 is any good...watch it, heck its worth a rent at any costs...idea was for about 20 Halloween movies, all different stories, all at Halloween...they messed up by #2 being about the same as #1...rumored #4 was being done by Tobe Hooper...but #3 bombed so bad that they scrapped the idea...which stinks....but they didn't advertise that #3 wasn't about Michael Myers and that just pissed alot of people off. I remember going to see #3 and thinking what the hell is this? myself.
