Evil Dead: 1 or 2? Which one do you guys like better: Evil Dead or Evil Dead II? Evil Dead II's much funnier, and Bruce with a chainsaw arm...ehhhhh it's good. But I have to say I like the original better. How 'bout you? |
Army of Darkness is funnier still (hilarious in parts, in a 3-Stooges kinda way) - I think Evil Dead is by far the most horrific, and the sequel is more a light hearted parody of the original. |
1 is my favorite, 2 is a remake of 1 with a bigger budget and more comedy. 3 is pure comedy i like them all .. |
I definitely love all three films, these films along with others like: the Halloween Series (well not all of them) and the George A. Romero films are what made me want to be making horror films for aliving. I would have to say though that Evil Dead II is my favorite of the three followed by the original and then Army of Darkness. |

 I. |
I love all three. But Evil Dead 2 is one of my favorite films of all time. Hilarious with great gore, and I think it is Bruce Campbell at his best. Great fun and also very clever. |
The pencil scene in the first one makes it my favorite of the series. |

I love 'em all....but part 2 would have to be my fav....:D It's just a great movie all round... |
Part 1, because it's the only one that's straight horror . I love all of them, though. |
They were both good, but I think that Evil dead 2 is my favorite.:D |
Number 2 all the way! |
 1. Low budget, clever angles, and some great fx ( some horrible ones LOL). An overall terrific atmosphere. The others can't hold a candle to it in that regard. CK |
I love love loves number two. Then the first one followed by Army. |
enjoy all three, but prefer the first. |
I like them all. The first one serves up the scare. The second adds some romance and comedy. The third...oh well, it was fun! Bruce Campbell is just one of a kind. He's priceless. The scene with his hand-gone-evildead was absolutely hilarious...the look of triumph and pain on his face when he cuts it off! |

The first was my favorite, It was a tuff decision though their all amazing |
The first is the best, then 3 and 2. The first was meant to be black comedy, but eveyone ignored the humor. With number 2 the humor was more in your face so no one could ban it. Number 3 was a good balance of the other movies, the theatrical cut was better. |
The first didn't much appeal to me, too much horror with a lack of comedy or action until the last 10 minutes. Evil Dead 2 is the most hilarious thing... ever. |
The whole series is amazing, but I would have to say Evil Dead II was my favorite. :) |
Hello guys , I am new to this group and in future i will be keeping on posting my collection of films |
Loved both for different reasons. #1 was a great, atmospheric horror movie, and #2 had me rolling in the aisles while still holding on to a bit of the scare-factor from #1. Though overall I think #1 is the better film, both made it into my signature |
I love them all, but the first Evil Dead is deffo the best. |
The first is definitely my favorite. I enjoyed the comedy of the second two as well, but the (relatively) straight horror approach of the first one worked much better for me. |
 II, then I... |
#1 for out right horror #3 then #2 for black comedy |
