Yeah James Cameron made a very funny cheesy sequal with flying Piranha..

This version is actually the second remake...Corman produced one back in the mid-90s..

Signed,

Not a real Horror fan..

Does the Piranhas can talk in this version? It looks like they are saying something to her.:)

I don't remember that scene in the movie at all... Does it actually happen?

...

Anyway. So I went to see this last night and, as previous persons have stated it's an absolute BLAST.

Incredibly gratuitous - From 3D blood to 3D boobies to teenagers LITERALLY drowning in a BAY OF BLOOD AND GUTS.

Plus, Jerry O'Connel was absolutely hilarious.

Pure schlock fun.

The only complaint that I have is what has already been raised - Sometimes the 3D was not that great, nor was the CGI; sometimes the camera shook so much that I couldn't see exactly WHAT was getting torn off... BUT in the end, it added to the experience.

What REALLY amused me about the whole experience is that my boyfriend and I went to see it last night - Monday night out at the movies - And were there with two groups of teens and another teen couple... Mark and I were the ONLY people laughing and, as much as the teenage boys were trying to act tough with their girlfriends, it was CLEAR that they were absolutely disturbed by the film - Most of them walked out before it was over. Bwahahahaha.

Suited ME fine because they talked through most of it... And made insipid comments at EVERY death scene like, "UH! THAT'S MESSED UP!" "THAT'S SO GROSS!"

Morons. They have NO idea what the point was...

I hate people. Why they hell did you EXPECT from a movie called 'PIRANHA 3D'????

Really can't wait to see this based on what you're all saying.

But it's interesting, it seems to me that people who watched the first one are more likely to enjoy this one than those who haven't, based on varying views I'm hearing from people. Maybe people who haven't seen the original don't get that these aren't meant to be good films, just gory fun? Some films call for a decent story, some are terrible because they use gore to try and frighten the audience. These ones work because they use it to entertain the viewer.

I think the issue is that people just don't get it. Like a bunch of teenagers walked out of it in disgust as I was laughing at the delightfully gory scenes... They just had no context. I don't think that you necessarily need to have seen the original film; just understand the genre that it is paying homage to.
