Yes I love it-it's a return to her earlier albums so has more of a celtic feel than her most recent work. But it's not a step backwards-you can tell that she has learned a lot about production on her other more recent albums and so even when the album is a bit sparse sounding, there are still layers there.

Yes, there's something VERY 80s nwobhm about them. Especially on that album. Haven't heard their brand new one.

Definitely 80s style.

Would say it's a blend between trash and nwobhm. And yes, with Suspiria and Battleshark being the strongest songs. Especially the last one, imho.

Music wise all the songs had lots of cool ol' school riffs. But the songs left a lot to be desired. Especially in the catchy area.

Wow man that would've been really cool. I can visualise Catus being a really killer live band. Seems like they would be home in that environment improvising and jamming out on their tunes. Finally found a copy of the first LP on vinyl... can't wait till it arrives and I can slap in on the turntable.

There's just something about late 60s and 70s rock. I don't know... can't quite put my finger on what it is but it just kicks my ass.

I was never that much into Skynyrd, so I never saw them. I would have loved to see Uriah Heap though. I never got to. I would suggest Savoy Brown, but you've probably already gotten in to them. Nitzinger was a great Southern rock band, along with Black Oak Arkansas. Very early Steve Miller Band was pretty blues influenced and rocked. You'd probably dig Ten Years After as well. Crow just came to mind- their first 2 albums were great hard rock. I had another name in mind and it just slipped away.... Oh, I remember- Frijid Pink. Also Canned Heat, if you've never checked them out.

I've got the first Ten Years After album on LP it's pretty cool. Been wanting to check out the first couple of Savoy Brown albums but they're always out of my price range... grabbed some MP3s so will check them out. Hadn't heard Black Oak Arkansas before real digging their tune I Could Love You... shit's unreal! Crow are really good, I've got MP3s of the first album. Any band Black Sabbath chooses to cover is gotta be good right? Need to check out the older Steve Miller Band stuff got a greatest hits LP and Fly Like An Eagle. Will get onto checking out the other stuff.

Cheers for the recommendations guys keep 'em coming!

Seriously, man. As a matter of fact, I picked up a Charlie Feathers LP at a used book/movie/music store about three hours after I wrote that.

First off, who the hell is Roy Wood?

Second, i only like 1 song with The Move and that's "Blackberry Way". Wizzard? Nah, don't think i know them. But if it's like The Move it doesn't matter. Couldn't hear Jeff Lynnes influence in any of their songs.

Acid Witch have some killer tunes. Bummed out I missed out on picking that album up on LP before it sold out.

Hooded Menace's first album is worth checking out.

Conan from the UK are insanely heavy. Every time I throw their album Horseback Battle Hammer on the turntable it feels like there's an earthquake happening.

Corrupted from Japan are my favourite when it comes to that kinda deal. Even their acoustic stuff is heavy as fuck.

Southern Lord have re-released Burning Witch and Winter's stuff too. I want the Burning Witch boxset so bad but can't afford it :(
