I present,

The First Mighty HDC Battle Royale for the UNDEAD!

This competition is only open to those who have participated in Battle Royale and have died in the Hunting Grounds.

The rules and gameplay are virtually the same. There will be horror movie based challenges with re-animation packs (instead of health packs) to the winners. The winners of each challenge will also get to hunt the losing undead in the Catacombs. Since everyone is already dead here, they will be harder to kill with 10 bullets being the lethal dose.

This competition will go on as long as Battle Royale (for the living) goes on, with new members joining this competition (at the beginning of the next challenge after their acceptance) as they get killed off. Whomever is standing, and with the most re-animation packs when that competiton ends will be crowned the winner of Battle Royale for the Undead!

Invitations will be sent in a moment.

Yep, everyone who will die in the hunting ground in the regular Battle Royale will get an invitation. Though, the longer you're in this game, the greater the advantage since you will have more opportunities to win challenges and rewards.

Deadites--

You have lost the first challenge due to one of your team members, Miss Macabre, not participating. In this stage of the game, team members must rely on each other and if one lets down the team, the whole team suffers. Not submitting anything is much worse than submitting all incorrect answers.

So, from here on out, if a team member fails to participate in a challenge, they will be docked 1/3 of their total life points (this includes reanimation packs) for the first incident. All their life points would be deducted after a second incident, thus turning them to dust and so they would be out of Battle Royale for the Undead.


One more thing: anyone can opt out of Battle Royale at any time by sending me a PM, but once you opt out, you cannot be allowed back in.

Here's how the catacombs work:

The losing team is released into the catacombs with a short head start before the winning follows after. The winning team will be given a weapon with limited ammo/durability to hunt the losing team.

Each player starts off with a full life which is 10 life points. Every damage point (i.e. bullet wound) reduces the life points by 1. When you reach zero, you turn to dust and are so out of Battle Royale for the Undead.

When you win a challenge, you will be typically granted Reanimation Packs as your reward. These will be used to reanimate a damaged portion of your body and thus restore your life points to a full life.

As the Deadites entered the Catacombs, they split up, each taking a different tunnel.









The Cenobites entered the Catacombs shortly thereafter. They, however, did not split up, but moved as one group. A group with a purpose.

It didn't take them long to find and corner their quarry. Ferret, Gore, V, and Alky raised their elephant guns and fired! Four direct shots tore through her body as she slumped, wounded to the ground.











Her body?! That's right, the Cenobites target was none other than Miss Macabre!

The Cenobites laughed manically as they strolled out of the Catacombs.








Meanwhile...


As Demon Handler, Fred put the three-headed demon dog, Cereberus into his new cage in the Catacombs, he forgot to lock the cage. As Fred hurried off to his much anticipated lunch break, Cereberus escapes from his cage looking for his own lunch.

Hearing the gunshots, Cereberus can already smell the death in air as he runs towards the noise. Rounding a bend in the tunnel, Cereberus comes upon the wounded Miss Macabre as she struggles to stand.

With no hesitation Cereberus attacks Miss Macabre, mauling her until she is nothing but dust [she has decided to opt out]




As Neverending, Cactus, and Fortunato exit the catacombs, they realize they are one teammate short. Fearing the worst as they see Fred and his team of Demon Handlers run into the catacombs, blocking the exit behind them.

Miss Macabre is dust and so out of Battle Royale for the Undead!

She will be replaced with the next accepted victim in Battle Royale for the Living.

Their crossbows are equipped with one poison-tipped arrow. This is a special poison used to de-animate corpses (re-animation occurs so often these days), and counts as one bullet wound/damage point.

As the Cenobites entered the Catacombs, they moved as a group down one tunnel before splitting up at the fork.

The Deadites enter the Catacombs, moving as a group down the first tunnel. They hear footsteps and stop, listening. The footsteps continue and Fortunato breaks off from the group to go after it.

Fortunato knows the person is near as the footsteps quicken into a run, he too quickens his pace. Fortunato rounds the next turn and comes face to face with Gorephobia! He quickly fires his crossbow, hitting Gore in the shoulder as he smiles evily, then leaves.

Gore winces as his shoulder goes dead. He pulls out the arrow and uses his only re-animation pack to re-animate his shoulder.



Meanwhile...


Neverending and Cactus continue through the tunnel, listening for signs of movement, but hearing nothing. They come upon a antechamber with a sarcophagus, which they stop to inspect.

Out of the corner of Neverending's eye, he catches movement as V comes out of the shadows preparing to run back down the tunnel, but Neverending fires his crossbow, hitting V in the leg. V stumbles long enough for Cactus to fire his shot, hitting V in the shoulder.

Neverending and Cactus give each other high 5's as they leave. V pulls the arrows out, his shoulder and leg going dead. V has a re-animation pack, but only one for his two dead limbs.

As the Cenobites enter the Catacombs, they split up, each running down a different tunnel.

The Deadites enter the Catacombs, staying together as they move through the tunnels.


The Deadites enter into the antechamber with the sarcophagus that Neverending and Cactus found last outing. After an inspection of the chamber reveals that no one is hiding, the group turns to go.

Fortunato catches his foot on the edge of the sarcophagus, causing one of the bottom stones to turn out. And audible click is heard. The Deadites look at each other in alarm.

The wall behind them slides open revealing an alcove with two doors. One is marked "A" and the other is marked "B". Below the letters on each door is a set of three keyholes, with keyhole covers in gold, silver, and bronze.

Before the Deadites can inspect further, footsteps are heard in the hallway leading to the antechamber. Fortunato mouths the word, "Cenobite" and the three of them leave the antechamber.

As the Cenobite footsteps quicken, the Deadites break out into a run, rounding the corner of the tunnel and coming upon Alkytrio!

The Deadites overtake Alkytrio before he can get away and start hacking away at his flesh with their machetes!

After two whacks, each of the Deadites' machetes break in half. They look disgruntedly at the cheap weapons, throwing them to the ground as they leave.

Alky, with his right side completely dead and mangled, he uses his one re-animation pack to partially re-animate his right side, but it is not enough.

There are two sets of gold, silver, and bronze keys for both teams and there are two doors. What lies behind those two doors is unknown, but both sets of keys will unlock either door, but not both.

You obtain keys by winning challenges and the first team to win all three keys will have their pick of the doors. The other team will be able to open the remaining door when they have collected all of their keys.

For this challenge I can push the deadline to Thursday, May 8 at 10am EST, but each contestant may submit a vote with their answers as to whether all future challenges must have at least 24hrs between the posting and the deadline or at least 48hrs.

If I get all the entries in by tomorrow, I will announce the winner early.

The deadline for naming the victims in the Catacombs will stay at 24hrs (that seems to work out alright).

Next Up: How to play Bludgeon, Shroud, and Scythe

So we will be using this as a tie-breaker throughout the rest of the game. Bludgeon, Shroud and Scythe is play just like Rock, Paper, Scissors. Bludgeon breaks Scythe, Scythe cuts Shroud, and Shroud covers Bludgeon.

Each member of a team must send me a PM with their choice of Bludgeon, Shroud, or Scythe. The first PM I receive from each team will be counted as Round 1. If there is a winner of Round 1, that will decide the tie-breaker.

If Round 1 is a tie, then second PM I received from each team will be counted as Round 2. If Round 2 is a tie as well, we will continue on to Round 3.

If all the team members have sent me their choices and the rounds end in ties, that challenge will be scrapped without an outing in the catacombs and no rewards will be given. We will then continue on to the next challenge.



So, Deadites and Cenobites send me your choices individually via PM. If Bludgeon, Shroud, and Scythe is not completed by tomorrow, May 9th, at noon EST, this challenge will be scrapped.

RE: Bludgeon, Shroud, and Scythe

I have received two choices from the Cenobites and none from the Deadites thus far.

I changed the rules post slightly because I wasn't sure if I was clear that it may not be necessary for all teammates to send me their choice as a winner may be determined after a single round (though all teammates should send me their choice as it may go up to three rounds).

As soon as one Deadite sends me their choice, Round 1 will start.

Okay, so for out first tie-breaking contest of Bludgeon, Shroud, and Scythe (BSS) we have:

Shroud covers Bludgeon, so the Deadites win Round 1 and thus Challenge #4!

Since there is a winner of Round 1 (and not a tie), there is no need to continue to Round 2.

There are three keys, gold, silver, and bronze, and two doors, marked "A" and "B".

Deadites, since you are the first team to gather all three keys, so you will have your pick of either door.

There is one catch however, the keys must be turned in order to unlock the door. The combination is also different for both doors.

There is no time limit on unlocking the door so if you were to guess the first key correctly, but not the second two keys, the next time you were able to guess you would only need to guess the second two keys.

If you fail in guessing the correct combination during the Catacombs Outing, you will not get another chance to guess until you win another Challenge.

These rules will also apply to the Cenobites when they collect the rest of their keys.

Starting with this outing and all future outings, the hunted will no longer be completely defenseless, but armed in the Catacombs!

The weapon you will be given will be for defense only! No hunting!





The Cenobites make a visit to Weapons Assistant Earl to go over the weapon they will be using, a revolver.

Even though there are three Cenobites, they receive one revolver with one shot in it as only one person on their team will get to carry it.

Cenobites:

The person you decide to carry the revolver must PM me to tell me that they are the one carrying it. Choose wisely. If multiple people PM me I will only count the first PM. If no one PMs me, the revolver will be considered "left at home" this outing.

Also, you do not get to pick who to shoot as you are the hunted and this is for defense only. The gun will automatically fire upon the hunter if the gun carrier is attacked. If the gun carrier is not attacked and another of their teammates is attacked, the gun will not fire.

It's a flail, which is sometimes incorrectly referred to as a mace or morning star (I know for years I thought it was called a mace). But since these are actual medieval weapons (the museum was having an auction :D ), they will only be good for one good swing before they will break.

PM me your choice of victim for this outing in the catacombs.

Also, one person from your team must PM me (this can be in the same PM or separate) which door you will try to open and the order that the keys must be unlocked. If multiple people PM me or if I get multiple PMs from the same person, only the first PM will be counted, so choose wisely.

If any of your teammates fail to PM with your choice of victim by the deadline, Cerberus will be released and will maul your team taking down your total life points by 1/3.

The Cenobites enter the Catacombs, one of which is carrying the revolver.

The Deadites prepare the enter the Catacombs, but the are one man short. Neverending and Cactus stand there looking at their watches as the time runs out and the buzzer sounds.

With Fortunato nowhere in sight, the gates to the Catacombs open. Neverending and Cactus peer into the darkened tunnel as they hear something approaching. It is Cerberus, the Three-Head Hell Hound!

Cerberus leaps towards Neverending and Cactus, pouncing on them both. One head tears into Neverending's torso and another head rips into Cactus's legs.

Just then, Fortunato appears. Cerberus leaps off of Neverending and Cactus, tackling Fortunato to the ground. All three heads start to maim Fortunato's flesh.

A whistle is heard and Cerberus stops. Demon Wrangler Fred walks up and blows the whistle again. Cerberus reluctantly gets off of Fortunato and walks off with Fred.

The Deadites use their re-animation packs to heal themselves the best they can.

Next Up: Deadites First Attempt in the Antechamber

The Deadites enter the Antechamber within the Catacombs. With all three keys, gold, silver, and bronze now in their possession, they are ready to attempt to unlock one of the doors in the alcove.

Neverending places each of the three keys is their corresponding colored locks into door "B". Glancing first at his team, he hesitantly turns the silver key first. The mechanisms are audible as the the first key is unlocked.

Neverending turns the gold key second, which can be audibly heard as it unlocks. This can only mean that the final key is the bronze, which Neverending quickly unlocks.

Creaking and gears grinding can be heard as the door marked "B" starts to swing open. The Deadites step back awaiting expectantly for what lies behind the door.














Blasts of fire shoot out, narrowly missing the Deadites as the Demon Belial steps out!

Belial bellows, "Free! Free at last!". He spies the Deadites as he steps forward, the Deadites staring in shock. "For freeing me," Belial continues, "I will let you live for now, but if we cross paths again, you may not be so lucky!"

[Deadites, you have unlocked your own personal demon, who will hunt you when you are the hunters. More to come on this on your next Catacombs Outing as hunters]

The Deadites start to leave, their high hopes sunk, when Cactus notices something behind the opened door "B". The Deadites look behind the door and find 2 re-animation packs each, and 2 bulletproof vests for the team [more on bulletproof vests in the next Catacombs Outing].

I've actually been trying to make the challenges difficult and interesting, but not impossible unless your a walking movie library difficult. And actually, since there is a theme to all these challenges, they're not that hard if you know where to look. You also get extra time if you figure out the clue that I post the day before.

I've done it this way because I'd rather have a clear winner and not a tie. I want the best team to win and not the whole thing be a game of chance. At the same time, I've tried to also give some power to those who lose so that things don't become completely one sided.

It can still be anyone's game and I hope that people won't stop playing just because it's "too hard". If it was easy, it wouldn't be any fun and it wouldn't be worth anything to win.

Yeah, I haven't seen all the movies that I make questions about either. I get 99% of my info from the internet. I pick a genre that I like to research and sometimes I've seen quite a few in that group, and sometimes hardly any of them.

And actually in making up these questions, I've discovered movies I knew nothing about before that definitely need watching. Or movies that I haven't seen in ages that deserve another viewing.

As per last outing, the revolver is for defense only and not for hunting. The gun carrier must PM me that they are carrying the gun. The gun will automatically fire at the hunter(s) who fire the first two shots at the carrier. The gun will not fire if a teammate is being shot.

These antiques were donated by our Mad Scientist friend, Heinrich, but they should have enough juice for two good blasts each.


For the Deadites, this is the first round where you will be using your newly acquired bulletproof vests. The vest protects you not only from bullets but from all the other weapons present here in the catacombs.

The vests are worth three damage points each. The damage points carry over to the next outing if the vest isn't demolished. You have two vests and three teammates. The vests are transferrable between outings, but not during.


Deadites, this is also your first round with your new demon, Belial.

He currently will only attack you all if you stumble upon him in the Catacombs. If you stumble upon him, you will just piss him off and he will blast you, lowering you 1/3 of your total hit points.

So the Catacombs have been divided into 4 sections: The Antechamber, The Chapel (new area), Tunnel Section A, and Tunnel Section B. Now all three of you can be in the same section or different sections or wherever you want, just as long as it's in one of the 4 sections.


Deadites PM me with your victim(s) for you two shots, the section you will be in, and if you will be wearing a vest. Remember there are two vests and three of you.

Failure to notify me that you are wearing a vest, I will assume you left it at home. If all three of you notify me that your are wearing a vest, only the first two will count.


Failure to notify me of your victim and/or section, and Cerberus will be unleased upon the entire team, taking away 1/3 of your total life points.

I know, I know. :) I'm writing it right now, I'm just unusually busy today, but I will have both the results of the outing and the next challenge up this afternoon.

The Cenobites enter the Catacombs, stopping at the fork in the tunnels to decide which way to go.

It is there that they realize that they forgot the revolver! Could this be a fatal mistake?!

As the Deadites prepare to enter the Catacombs, two of the teammates strap on their newly acquired vests and the team enters the Catacombs. They split at the fork in the tunnels.

Neverending continues in Tunnel Section A. Keeping a lookout for Belial, he hears footsteps. He moves towards them, hoping it is the quarry he seeks.

Neverending rounds a turn and runs right into Alkytrio! He blasts him with two rays from his ray gun, hitting Alky in the chest before the gun fizzles and dies. Alky slumps against the wall, clutching his chest as Neverending laughs manically and then leaves.

After a moment Alky regains his footing and staggers down the tunnel into the Antechamber. Barely making it inside the room as he gets blasted twice!

Coming out of the shadows is Cactus! His spent ray gun fizzles and dies as he throws it to the floor, smiling darkly as he leaves.

Alky, barely alive now, crawls out of the Antechamber into Tunnel Section B. Two feet stop in front of him. Alky barely has time to see the face of the hunter before he is blasted once, the fatal blow that turns him to dust and out of Battle Royale for the Undead!

Fortunato laughs triumphantly as the Cenobite Alkytrio has now been dusted, and with one blast to spare! But who shall be his next prey?!

Fortunato's prey finds him as Gorephobia rounds the corner in the tunnel, coming upon him. Fortunato quickly blasts Gore, spending his last round, into Gore's shoulder, the ray gun fizzling, signaling it's end.

The Cenobites enter into the Catacombs, yet again forgetting to bring their revolver. They leave it outside the entry gates to the Catacombs.

Neverending and Cactus wait impatiently by the entrance to the Catacombs. Fortunato, is yet again missing.


Just then, they hear a growling as Cerberus steps from the shadows, blood dripping from each of his muzzles.

Cerberus bounds towards Neverending and Cactus. Neverending seeing the revolver that the Cenobites left behind, picks it up and fires it at Cerberus. The bullet hits the hellhound in chest and it stumbles and falls. Blood oozes from the wound and the hellhound whimpers softly.


Demon Wrangler Fred appears out from the shadows. "Sorry about your teammate, Fortunato," he said. "Seems he was running late to meet you all and Cerberus escaped again and mauled him to dust. Since you two are the only Deadites left the Catacombs are all yours, though you don't have much time left," Fred said as he unlocked the entry way.

"We won't need much time," Cactus said as he and Neverending stalk into the Catacombs tunnels, their Tommy Guns in hand.


They break off at the fork. Cactus heads over to an unexplored area of the Catacombs. As he enters through a low and narrow passage way, he finds what looks like a Chapel.

Eerily lit, there is an altar with four spherical indentations in a ring: Red, Blue, White, and Green. In the center of the ring is a black stone pyramid.

Before Cactus can inspect it further, he sees movement out of the corner of his eye. It's Gorephobia! Cactus empties his four bullets into Gore, tossing away his Tommy Gun triumphantly away, leaving the Chapel.



Later...

Neverending moves quickly down Tunnel Section B, hot on the the trail of Cenobite footsteps.

He sees Gore run by down an adjacent tunnel and is able to shoot one bullet before he disappears. But right behind Gore is Ferretchucker!

Neverending blocks Gore's escape route, cornering him as he shoot his remaining three bullets into Ferret! His Tommy Gun spent, Neverending laughs manically and leaves. Ferret uses his remaining re-animation pack, but it is not enough.


As Neverending is heading out of Tunnel Section B, he runs right into the demon, Belial!

"Stay out of my tunnels, human!", Belial growls as fire shoots out of his mouth as Neverending makes a run for it. Luckily, he was wearing a vest as Belial's fire blast takes him down to 1/3 of his total life points.

Just got a message from Neverending and I apologise gore, but I've had to do a lot of things lately so I haven't been on much, and it seems when I do come on, it's too late, or the computer's telling me the thread has no new posts, so I don't check it. Luckily, all the things I've been doing have finished and I'll just check this thread when I come on, even if it says it hasn't been posted in.

Neverending and Cactus meet up at the fork, preparing the leave the Catacombs, when a dark figure emerges from the entryway. Stepping into it the light, it is Fortunato!

Neverending, astonished said, "What the hell?"

Cactus, continues, "Yeah, they said you were dust?!"

"Don't count me as dust unless you see a body," said Fortunato. "There are some new people coming in from Battle Royale for the Living, must have mistaken me for one of them. Stupid Demon Wranglers, can't even keep their demons contained let alone tell one undead from another."

"Now," Fortunato continues, "I think there's still a Cenobite I can kill." He walks past Neverending and Cactus heading towards the Antechamber.


Meanwhile, in the Antechamber...

Gore and Ferret, both wounded, are hiding out behind the sarcophagus. Ferret notices some sort of lever, he starts to pull it, but Gore stops him. "You don't know what that does," Gore said.

Before Ferret can respond, Fortunato appears, laughing manically. Before Gore or Ferret can run, Fortunato pumps his four bullets into Gore, dusting him!

In retaliation, Ferret pulls the level on the sarcophagus and the entryway to the Antechamber starts to close. Fortunato runs out in time, but Ferret is just too late and is now trapped in the Antechamber!

A rumbling is heard and the sarchophagus open and out steps a Ghoul!

The Ghoul eyes Ferret hungerily, "dinner," it whispers.







Fortunato meets up with with Neverending and Cactus as they exit the Catacombs as a team.

Outside the entryway is two figures. "I heard there was a game down here," a female voice speaks.

"Yeah, I heard you all were looking for some more competition," a male voice continues.

The two figures emerge from the shadows and they are Rayne and Dude Guadalupe!

Nope, one was spent when Belial attacked you.

You had 10 life points + 5 re-animation packs + bulletproof vest worth 3 = 18 total life points.

Belial's fireball took you down by 1/3 total points to 12 total life points, which translates to 10 life points and 2 reanimation packs.

The Deadites go and visit Weapons Assistant Earl who hands the team one revolver and 2 bullets.

As per last outing, the revolver is for defense only and not for hunting. The gun carrier must PM me that they are carrying the gun. The gun will automatically fire at the hunter who fire the first two shots at the carrier. The gun will not fire if a teammate is being shot.

Also, you have one remaining vest (3/3) that one of you is allowed to wear. The vest wearer must PM me that they are wearing the vest.

The vest wearer and gun carrier may be the same person, but they don't have to be.

Nemesis, the Deadites' demon Belial is now also your demon as well and will be wandering around.

He only attacks hunters (which is you this round), and will only attack you if you stumble upon him in the Catacombs. If you stumble upon him, you will just piss him off and he will blast you, lowering you 1/3 of your total hit points.

So the Catacombs have been divided into 3 sections: The Chapel, Tunnel Section A, and Tunnel Section B. Now both of you can be in the same section or different sections or wherever you want, just as long as it's in one of the 3 sections.


Nemesis, PM me with your victim(s) for you 3 shots and the section you will be in.


Since Cerberus is now wounded and his recovery is unknown, we have a new demon--Chimera!

I am very sorry to be MIA for so long, but I came down with a very serious cold over Memorial Weekend. I don't have internet at home, so I had no way to post and today is my first day back in the office.

I'm doing much better now, though still on cold medicine. I have over a week's worth of work to catch up on so I will be posting this last challenge's results by Friday and have a new challenge up next week.
