nice to see some activity in here again ..
i was sorting out my photos and found these from several years ago.
(before i had a decent camera)
these are of the girl that was staying with us for a while that loved fashion photography.
so this was done with natural light as i had an old digital and no decent flash at the time.
my favorite one is of course - my kid after he stole the model's hat :D

Nice pictures of the old house. Is that just a random one or does it have some kind of relevance to you?
The black and white ones are good too, although it never ceases to amuse me that people spent years optimizing colour photography and now all we seem to do is take pictures in black and white. Sometimes it does look arty, like the above, but I wish these people on myspace would take a real photo of themselves instead of using every and any effect they can thing of.

I pass the house every day leaving town and sometimes I venture into the yard out of boredom. Other than that, nope.

It was pretty intimidating when it turned to face me, despite the fact it was hooded. It was in a relaxed mood though, the shot with its wings out its actually basking in the sun as it felt my arm was a stable perch! I was made up with that!

It would be well worth checking out if there is a falconry place near you, its a brilliant way to spend a morning. It wasnt cheap though, three hours at the place we went to was £75 each, but I fully intend to do it again. They do an owl experience day which includes Snowy owls, one of my favs.

its a place called the Warsaw Caves - outside of Peterborough - not far from Toronto.
the caves arent typical caves like in the side of mountains - they are more like a giant rock pile - leaning against each other. too small for me to get through without wrecking the camera.
the water was actually pretty warm - all kinds of people were swimming in it..

the significance of the second to last picture is that pretty much my whole body was sunburned and I tell everyone that I can't tan and don't burn. so it was to prove that even in australia the sun can't touch me, with the help of photoshop anyway. in actuality the sun taught me a lesson I won't soon forget.
and because I take more pictures of my stomach than anything else so I figured I'd get it out of the way early. ;)

Cool pics, MD. What camera do you use?
I like the first belly button pic too - Great perspective. I like how the wrinkles in the sheet are a continuation of the rib cage.
thanks :) that was the main idea.
an asahi pentax k1000 is what I usually take pictures with.

That's pretty good FC. I wish I could draw!

Thanks Elvis. To be honest, I think the key to good drawing isn't so much a natural skill but accurate proportions. The first thing I drew was his left cheek. I then compared the length of that to the length of his nose in the original picture and tried to replicate. Similarly, to find correct placement of say, the eye, I knew the inner corner was pretty much perfectly horizontal to the beginning of the ear. So long as you get those key points right, the rest fall into place.
I also did a similar sketch of Bowie's famous Aladdin Sane photo.
