haven't been on in a few weeks, not that anyone would notice (boo hoo). the reason for this is total submersion in world of warcraft. has anyone else here lost at least 2 weeks of their life to this evil genius and if so is it possible to get them back? it's the crack cocaine of pc games.

I played it for a while. Got my level up to high 40's, and realised it was taking way too much time :)

I found it was one of those games that you just couldn't play for a while here and there - you had to spend quite long chunks of uninterrupted time - and this just got moreso the higher the level you got to.

I have a friend who was in University and he ended up dropping out because he missed so many classes and seminars. Apparently he was too busy playing burning crusades. Ever since that happened I urge the people I know who play WOW, not to.

Why bother getting an education or a job, when you're already level 60 in World of Warcraft. Hmm?

Look on the bright side, they clearly have an addictive personality. At least it is wow and not cocaine or heroine. It may screw up their life, but at least it wont get them killed or a family member abducted.

Au contraire my northern friend.

RENO, Nev., July 16 (UPI) -- Reno, Nev., authorities say addictions to the Internet and Web-based video games led a couple to neglect the basic needs of their young children.

Authorities said Michael and Iana Straw, who pleaded guilty to two counts of child neglect, nearly starved their 11-month-old daughter and 2-year-old son to death because all of their time was spent on the Internet and playing the online version of fantasy role-playing game "Dungeons & Dragons," the Reno Gazette-Journal reported Monday.

Police said both children were on the verge of death when they were found by social workers during a visit to the home prompted by a neighbor's complaint of constant crying coming from the home. The infant girl was unable to lift her head or sit up due to a lack of muscle development. The 2-year-old boy was so stunted in muscle development that he had trouble walking.

Jesus christ.... the worst i ever did was eat a can of biscuits for dinner because it was the only thing i had in the house that would not take more than 30 seconds at a atime away from counter-strike.

And i was single at the time and my roommate was at his girlfriends for the weekend, and I had 0 responsibilities at the time.

I've lost a few friends to WoW.It is a highly addictive game, not to mention lame.Don't get me wrong I love to play games. But you have to know your limits. And some people dont.
But I fail to see the hype behind this game.I heard everybody talking about it and so went to a friends house to check it out. After about 5 minutes into it I felt the urge to shoot myself from severe boredom. There has been alot of games that were way better than this crap. For instance,Barbie Horseback Riding Adventure, any pokemon game.Hell watching old people at a nursing home is more entertaining than playing that game.
Oh and I love the way Southpark bashed WoW.Classic and funny.

Never saw the point in paying for it. A bit like city of heroes. Although i was submerged for a long time at the ages of 10-12 in runescape. got kinda high. Although it was more of an on off thing. My worst addiction was habbo. But after i realized I had spent over £100 on it, i stopped. thank god. Now i have no addictions...other than this.

Why do you think Sergio hasn't been on the forum in so long (so long that most of you don't even remember him :p)?

He's severely addicted to EverQuest (EverCrack)...He has even called off work a few times because he couldn't stop playing...Fortunately, he has no kids or any other responsibilities, other than paying his bills and taking care of himself

Just when he was starting to work on making more of his movies, and hang out with friends more...EverQuest 2 came out...It was "bye, bye Sergio" again...He's probably playing right now

I've heard MANY stories of people losing their jobs, and even their marriages because of their insane involvement with these games (I'm NOT blaming the games...I'm blaming the players for not knowing how to play in moderation, and still tend to their responsibilities).

This stuff really IS addictive

OH...And no matter what you think of astrology...Cancers are ESPECIALLY susceptible to these things, because they have a tendency to 'lock themselves' into their computers...Richie is hung up on W.O.W....Both Sergio and Richie are Cancers...

Pfft. I'm cancerous and I don't get addicted to games. Not for super-long periods of time, anyways. I'll get bored and stop playing after a couple weeks.

Anywho, back to it. *fap fap fap*

Anywho, back to it. *fap fap fap*This was the more relevant Cancer point: "they have a tendency to 'lock themselves' into their computers"...

That's WHY they're "especially susceptible to these types of games"

And besides...YOU aren't a 'typical' Cancer anyway...You're more aggressive than the norms...Hmm...I don't think I ever checked to see what your moon is...That could be it

One of the best South Park's ever. :D That episode made W.o.W even more popular. Most of the Managers(all in their 30's) @ my job are addicted to that game. It's all they talk about.
 I do not understand the fascination with W.o.W.
