So my folks have been getting basker after basket of "gifts" for Christmas. We got one filled with big jugs of pino noir, one with fucking pasta sauce and penne, and one with candy and a stuffed snowman.
What ever happened to just getting a box or a card? Its taking up a whole corner of the our living room and our dog keeps trying to eat it.
Leading me to my question... what was the shittiest gift you've ever gotten?
Mine was pajama pants when I was 20... from my Mexican aunt. They had footies in em'. I was all, "what the fuck". That's what I was like.

Mine was a t-shirt from my grandmother ( god rest her soul) ;)
It had flowers all over it, but two of the flowers were right on my boobs. To make matters worse, each flower had a jewel in the middle of it...you know, where the nipples would be ;) It was hideous. I was like 13. I'm sure she didn't realize where the flowers would be once the shirt was on...but still:p
LOL........i really can't think of anything that was so bad i would remember it.I mean sure...everybody gets socks or some shit you really don't need.

one year, i asked for an electric train set, and instead i got a wooden set... the cars stuck together on account of magnets, but they went nowhere of their own accord. i was disappointed.

When you think about it, the basket would more than likely be more "traditional".
We got one filled with big jugs of pino noir, one with fucking pasta sauce and penne, and one with candy and a stuffed snowman.
That doesn't sound too bad...maybe like, they think you ought to be cooking for yourself more? I've been known to give baskets full of various spices and condiments...I figure if you learn something cool, makes the gift all the more worthwhile.
But hey, that's just the non-materialist in me speaking, I always think it should be about more than just throwing cash around at the most obvious thing you think a person would "want".

I was speaking more in terms of space. Baskets are so damn big, the shit just spills out the top and you can't put it anywhere without it looking out of place.

I have to say, though, I like the bath basket gift sets. I especially like the quality (Crabtree and Evelyn, Bath and Bodyworks, or The Body Shop) bath soaps, salts, lotions, beads, with a bottle of wine added to it. That's a nice "relaxation kit.";)
The worst gift I ever got...hmmm...I've alway been about useful presents, but I would still have to say that receiving socks is always a bummer.
