I just saw a show talking about kids targeted as trouble makers. the fact that they wear black, have tats, listen to so called satanic music, watch horror movies, play vidio games and wear goth. they have even been kicked out of school because of it. also told they where going to be killers.

I think this is bullshit!! people like this seem to be the most sane at least to me. Us so called freaks seem to have our shit together better than most.

What do you guys think??

i think im one of them, so im pretty damn sick of it to, they kicked me and my friend out of the army for it, i was a good soldier but anything he tuched turned to gold... but if we wear black, listen to metal watch horror and so fourth we are worthless to them. you simpley have to tone down when going to a job interview or youl NEVER get hierd no matter how much experience you have under your belt.

aint just shcools and work and so on, general public has an eye out for you, you start notecing things like when your going thrugh a mall your always being followed by a cuple security guards, cops are much more likeley to do a "knife controll" when they see you, frisk you and all. going out for a beer on the weekend usualy gets me into truble, and im ALWAYS peacefull untill provoked.

what realy concerns me is that my little brother wants to be just like me though, he wants tatts, has old mans child in his record collection....he is 8 btw... always wants to wear black.

all becuase of varg vikernes, gave us all this rep we have to live with, id eat his face while he was still sruggeling if i ever got the chance.

cant say that ive met TOO many, but living in san diego, we have every sort of person here. and yeh, ive pretty much had every kind of friend imagineable (various races, religions, as well as the nerd, jock, cheerleader, AzIaN pRyDe, mexican, thug...) but NOT a goth one.

a couple emo ones sure... but no goth. there was this one guy in particular, who i thought to talk to once, but the second he opened his mouth, all that came out was crap. he was a jerk, couldnt relax, and everything was just so LAME to him.

and yeh.... when i was at bodyworlds. i DID notice the goth kids. it was a full fukin forum becuz it was the last weekend it was open, THOUSANDS of people. I noticed em and i kinda laughed, said something to my bf. and what do i find out a couple days later? 2 of the fucktards stole one of the specimens. like DUDE, I just fuckin saw that thing, and i just fuckin saw you guys. how incredibly RUDE can anyone be

i know alot of these boys and girls, probabley met 90% of oslos content of em, and just like anyone else they go to school, go to work, have a family and otherwise live a pretty normal life. but there is NO society without it mongrils and motards.

I had this problem when i was at school becose i wore black and read edgar allan poe and wrote papers on horror movies my teachers treated me alot harsher than other kids who were alot worse than i was so i started missing school and hanging around museums and cafes hence why i cant spell lol.

I know quite a few people that some consider 'goth'....As with any 'group' of people, we are all individuals, we are not all the same...There are good people and bad people in any group (whether that group be defined by race, age, gender or 'clique')...


The people that I know and hang out with personally are NOT whiny/depressed people...Who wants to be brought down by people like that?...BTW...Check the stats on your 'depressed, medicated' people, MANY are wealthy, white and 'look normal'...odd, huh?...I only know of 2 people (that live near here) that are on anti-depressants, and they wouldn't be considered 'goth' by any stretch of the imagination, as a matter of fact, they don't even like the way 'goth' people dress...

I've been on this forum for nearly 2 years...So has my daughter...You have met Sergio, too...Many people call us 'goth'...Have we ever seemed depressed or suicidal to you?...I'm usually always happy...Of course, we ALL have our moments and have to deal with life's little 'setbacks' at times...And we are far from illiterate...

Neither me, my family, nor any of our friends have ever stolen anything...And I don't know of anyone that is involved in any 'criminal activity'

I have never heard of any domestic disputes, wife beating, or child abuse in the goth community that I am familiar with...

I don't know any 'goths' that are considered 'whores'...Well, okay, there is this one guy...but...We just say he's popular with women:)...

The people I know can carry on deep and intelligent conversations, and even debate topics without becoming enraged and/or beligerant...Most are very creative, talented, witty, introspective people...They all have jobs and pay their own bills...They are musicians, artists, designers and writers, in addition to having 'normal jobs' at the same time...One is an airport security guard, one works in a warehouse, 2 work at Hot Topic :p...And the list goes on and on...

Some of us DO shop at Hot Topic, because we don't really care much for the tight, lowcut jeans, and skimpy, halfshirts that you can't breathe in, that you find just about anywhere else these days...

AND...The way we dress IS 'normal' to us...

BTW...People usually DO tend to get 'defensive' when they are being insulted/attacked...I don't think that's so much a 'goth' thing, as it is a HUMAN thing...

Although...I would like to point out that I am not being defensive at this time...I'm only stating my opinion based on my knowledge and experience pertaining to this particular topic...


You can't judge an entire group of people based on the actions of a few...


And, honestly Fluff...No offense...But, I'm not surprised that some people wouldn't be very interested in talking to you...Some people click, and some people don't...Some types of people get on other people's nerves ;)

I beleive that the so called 'goth' ya'll are talking about really has nothing to do with ones personality. They like black (majority of them anyway). So what, who cares?? I like pink. I practiced the Wiccan Religion while I was in school and hung out with the goth crowd at times. And guess what, I never once had to wear black to be accepted by them. My friends whom most shunned or disliked, were actually a very positive group with a whole lot of intelligence. Straight A's in school and everything, but because they wore black it affected their image. I agree with you AMK, it pisses me off when people stereotype others because of the way they dress. San Diego has every sort of person, but then again, no matter what kind, we are still californians. Apparently, we are a strange breed. Regional differences I guess. As far inland as I've ever gone is Las Vegas, so im not even too familiar with how people are on the east coast. I've been to the philippines, and its safe to say there arent too many goths there.

actually, i was going to mention.... I'm involved in all kinds of volunteer work. in my many years in special olympics, project wildlife (wildlife sanctuary), I've NEVER seen a goth type there. I've been to mama's kitchen (a soup kitchen for the homeless) a few times, as well as Earth Day, MS Walk (benefit for multiple sclerosis) and a Walk for the local humane society. Again.. never seen a goth type there. thats not to say that they werent just dressed 'normal.' But i do take the jobs where i meet with people, either at the entry table, or simply walkin around the whole thing (thats what happens when yuo register too late and have nothing to do. anyway, you get to meet everyone).

But that could be for a number of reasons, people get busy, people simply dont KNOW about opportunities, etc etc...

i never said i was a pillar in the community, i justl ike to do a lot of random things. actually, i just remembered i volunteered at a flower show once. it was at an old folks community. another time, i volunteered at a gardening show. it was a meeting for elementary school teachers to try and teach them how to get gardening into the curriculum (turn the kids on to Future Farmers of America I suppose)

My now 18 year old daughter has been into the "Goth" mode for a long time. She wears all black, black nail polish and lipstick, glue in the hair, facial piercings, one tattoo, chains and collars, listens to rock, has pentigram patches and jewlery. Up to the time she graduated, she was always a mostly "A" student with a few B's every now and then. She has a very giving heart and would help anyone that needed help. She is now in basic training in the Army, and once completed, she will be going to her Advanced Individual Training as a Health Care Specialist!

So as you can see, yes...it is all bullshit! People always need to blame the violence on something...the media, games, fads, etc...
but they always seem to miss who is really at fault...Society...for not allowing parents to discipline their kids. Why do you thing that Juvenile Prision Facilities/Schools are springing up everywhere? It wasn't that long ago that there was only one state facility - (one for male and one for female) per state...when parents could discipline their children (dicipline, not beat) now nearly every county has there own! They (society) makes parents fearful in disciplining their own kids. Spank a kid in the middle of a store now and hell, you might get arrested, be branded as a child abuser and lose your kid to foster care. It will continue to be this way until Society can blame the real reason that kids go on violent rampages. US!
