The film stars rising star Michael Fassbender (Eden Lake, Inglorious Basterds, Centurion & X-MEN: First Class) as Carl Jung and Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings, A History of Violence, Eastern Promises & The Road) as Sigmund Freud. The first teaser trailer for the Marc Webb-directed film, "The Amazing Spider-Man" has hit the web, promising a bit of a change in origin story for the legendary webslinger. In the comics, and the Sam Raimi-directed, Tobey Maguire-starring films, Peter Parker is a nerdy weakling who gets endowed with incredible powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider during a class field trip to a science lab. In the new film, Andrew Garfield's Parker is no doubt weak, and he's bitten by a spider, it comes during a visit to see his crush, Emma Stone's Gwen Stacey, who is working at the lab.

The lab, by the way, is run by one Rhys Ifans, the man who will later become the villain, The Lizard.

The film hits theaters on July 3rd, 2012.

Actresses Shida Mirai and Kawaguchi Haruna will star in a new horror movie, titled “POV ~Norowareta Film“, directed by master of Japanese horror, Tsuruta Norio. This will be Shida and Kawaguchi’s second time co-starring together, with their first being LISMO’s drama “Koiiro Waltz“.

The movie is a horror documentary that features actual experiences from the cast and program officials. Set at Kawaguchi’s junior high school, the story starts where the two are recording a program for mobile phones.

Shida expressed, “I’ve never experienced anything more frightening than this.” This is the first time that both actresses will appear in something horror related. Shida commented, “I don’t think I’ll ever forget that experience even if I become an adult. I’m worried because everyone will see this in a movie form.” She also showed her ‘bond’ with Kawaguchi saying, “If I was alone, I would’ve been scared and ran away. As Kawaguchi-san and I combined our power, we were able to overcome it.”

Meanwhile, Kawaguchi stated in fear, “I didn’t think my careless remarks would turn out like that. When I think about it now, it’s terrifying. I don’t want to think about it anymore.“ She continued, “I don’t know what would’ve happened if Mirai-san wasn’t there.”

SILENT HOUSE ...first trailer.

There is a rare subgenre that pushes this style to the brink: Films that claim to be filmed entirely in real-time, in one take. Hitchcock did that (kind of) with the dark comedy Rope; Alexander Sokurov did it with Russian Ark; and now, the upcoming Silent House will use the style in the service of an old-fashioned scary-house horror film.

Silent House is actually a remake of a Uruguayan film, although the real story here is Silent House will be the first post-breakout film for Elizabeth Olsen. Also, fun fact: Silent House is directed by Chris Kentis and Laura Lau, who were last in theaters with 2003′s Open Water.

While the International Film Festival Rotterdam is widely known for its bold selection of arthouse films there's another side to the festival as well. Rotterdam is arguably the most genre friendly of the major European festivals, the programmers there have an excellent eye for up and coming talent, particularly in the space where arthouse film and genre film collide.

Need an example? Rotterdam was where a little Swedish vampire film titled Let The Right One In was discovered by the world.

And it looks like they may have another of that high caliber in Pat Holden's When The Lights Went Out.

Claiming to be based upon a true story - though what horror film doesn't do that these days? - the picture revolves around a family moving into a new house. Only the house may not have been empty, exactly, when they moved in.

A smart, character driven haunting story is what the trailer promises with Kate Ashfield, Craig Parkinson, and Gary Lewis delivering what look to be very strong performances.

In 2008, director / playwright / screenwriter Martin McDonagh unveiled In Bruges, a black comedy-drama starring Colin Farrell – and now, in 2012, he's bringing the world Seven Psychopaths, a black comedy-drama starring Colin Farrell again.

As well as Mr. Farrell (who plays a troubled writer called Martin trying to finish a script called, you guessed it, Seven Psychopaths), Seven Psychopaths also boasts the talents of the one and only Sam Rockwell as his best mate Billy.

Billy's current hobby-cum-job is abducting dogs with his friend Hans (Christopher Walken), who then takes the pooches back to their owners and collects on their reward.

But after dogknapping the wrong hound, Hans and Billy are in some serious trouble with a local gangster, Charlie (Woody Harrelson, whose role was originally earmarked for Mickey Rourke) who comes at them with a fury usually reserved for wronged biblical figures.

The trailer portrays it as more of a knockabout comedy-type-thing, but as fans of McDonagh's work will tell you, there's going to be a lot more to it than that. Expect metatextual insight, violence, Tom Waits and bunny rabbits – and that's just for starters.

The remaining psychopaths include Olga Kurylenko as Rockwell's girlfriend (billed, in a post-modern way, as a Bond girl), Abbie Cornish as Farrell's, and Tom Waits as a mysterious figure holding a bunny rabbit, while Kevin Corrigan, Gabourey Sidibe and Zeljko Ivanek also seem to play prominent roles.

Seven Psychopaths will arrive in US cinemas come October 12.
