As far as remakes go, I didn't mind The Ring and even The Grudge but Dark Water made me sick to my ass so I'm holding judgment on One Missed Call (I have a soft spot for J-horror and bastardized American versions of them).

I liked AVP in a strictly fanboy sort of way, the same way I like seeing Freddy and Jason on the screen together. For that reason alone I can't see myself disliking AVP2.

I appreciate you gathering all these upcoming movies V. I have no cable so this kind of keeps me up to date. Good show.

Looks... different, I'd like to see it though. It really reminds me of an image I have of either an older movie or simply in my head of normal people walking over zombies and treating them simply as if they were the homeless or simply second class citizens. I don't know where the image came from but it's stuck with me for years and it makes me happy to see we're getting some different takes on zombie films. Hellboy 2, second full length trailer...sorry if it's made an appearance here already, but I thought it was worth a mention.
The CG looks good, the storyline seems VERY comic vibe, but not in a bad way at all...the creature effects (although still part of cg) deserve a mention, even if they were in part an homage/bear similarity to said directors last film, are worthy of mention here too - this film seems to have very much created a universe of its own.
The fight scenes and stunts really look quite good too.
Perlman is his usual self again, I think his embodiment of this character was the best part of the existing film, they always had the right guy for the part - and hey, he looks a little less rubbery in this one?
And Rammstein used in the score? Love it.
I think an effort has been really pushed on this one to be great after Pans...I never much liked the first hellboy more'n a little, this looks set to overshadow it in every way.

This one to me looks awful. To each their own I suppose. Ray Stevenson or whoever looks too old to play Frank Castle. It looks like it might be a fun action flick but not as a Punisher movie.

I could have cared less what his earlier films were, they were just showcases for the things he could do. Not every action movie needs to be smart but I'll agree that he can't continue to star in such shallow films.

i saw and ad for Benjamin Button and had mixed feelings ..

it looked like another simon birch ... taking an outlandish premise for the express purpose of holding a mirror up to ourselves.


i find that oftimes these films try to be far more weightier than they are - not quite as deep as they attempt to be.

hopefully i'm wrong but that was the gut impression i got when i saw the trailer at the theatre a while back.

I don't know what it is, but there was a general feel of the first that I absolutely loved. I think in trying to make this one seem like a tougher challenge for the gang, by having a yeti, a dragon etc. it just seems too much. I liked the simplicity of the first one. If that makes sense...

They put out a 10 minute it so clip from it about a year ago, maybe even more then that. I remember that it was pretty awesome and I was pumped for the movie, but then it just sort of disappeared for awhile.
