Browsing a theater catalog, Ray Cupples was astonished to find a copy of the script for "Night of the Living Dead". "It was just a revelation," he said. "I thought, 'This would be wonderful for Halloween."

His first fear was that another local theatrical company may have bought the script and planned production already. Cupples lives very close to where the original opening scenes were shot at Evans City Cemetery, about 30 miles outside Pittsburgh. Also, parts of the movie were shot in the nearby Livermore cemetery.

Luckily for Stage Fright Productions, no one else had caught wind of the script, and now Cupples is the producing director of Stage Fright Productions' version of the horror classic. The play stars local actors and is run by local crew.

The play is all ready to go this weekend, except for one missing ingredient: zombies. Cupples is looking for zombies that "represent all walks of life - auto mechanics, waitresses, doctors..." Anyone interested in being a zombie in the production should call (724) 465-4652.

The production runs 9:30 p.m. and midnight on Fridays, October 24 & 31 and Saturdays, October 25 & November 1 at the Indiana Theater in Downtown Indiana.

Wow... I was just wondering the other day if there were any horror-based theatre programs or shows ever made; this sort of answers my question. Interesting. Too bad it's so far from me :( *FADE OUT*
