Entertainment industry big wig Jeff Sagansky has launched a magazine called "Phenomena" dedicated to paranormal occurrences and UFOs. Sagansky, who was recently the head of Pax television and also previously the president of CBS television, hopes that the new magazine will spawn television shows and movies in the other-worldly genre.

The new bimonthly is co-owned by Sagansky and Mania Entertainment (publisher of Cinescape magazine.) There are no formal deals with any studios yet, but Sagansky says that he believes the magazine will offer to a lot of potential for spinoffs into movies and TV. "At some point I'd love to do a Phenomena-based TV show," Sagansky said. "If you look at some of the biggest TV hits and feature films, they all have a paranormal kind of background. Something like half the top 20 movies of all time have this quality."

Sagansky says that the world of the paranormal has been a hobby of his and the new publication was something that he'd wanted to do for a long time.

The cover of the magazine's first issue features a headline that reads "Alien Abduction in Brazil."
