This weekend falls directly in the middle of the winter holiday season - sandwiched between Christmas and New Years. When you talk about the winter holidays, "family" is one of the first things that comes to people's minds. Well, this week's new horror movie -- The Orphanage -- is all about family.

Produced by Horror.com favorite Guillermo del Toro, directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, and written by Sergio G. Sanchez, The Orphanage tells the story of a woman who returns with her son to the abandoned home where she was raised, dreaming of offering help to disabled children. But what she and her son find inside the home threaten to turn her dreams into nightmares.

Horror.com sat down with director Juan Antonio Bayona and writer Sergio Sanchez to find out what they think makes a movie scary. Check out the video:
