Pics Online of Keanu As Hellblazer's "Constantine"

The Insane Rantings fan site has posted photos from the upcoming movie "Constantine". The film is based on DC Comics' "Hellblazer", which follows the adventures of detective/antihero John Constantine (played by Keanu Reeves).

In the movie, John Constantine teams up with a skeptical lady cop to find the truth behind her sister's mysterious suicide. Their quest takes them into a supernatural battle of good and evil lurking beneath modern-day Los Angeles.

Though Reeves is physically nothing like the blonde Brit in the comic, director Francis Lawrence felt he was perfect for the part. "Constantine has a hardboiled detective edge and a punk Sid Vicious attitude; he smokes, he drinks and is sarcastic and wry. He's not a blond Englishman but the heart of the character, the attitude and the period he invokes is intact, as this was the most important thing for me to maintain."

"Constantine" is scheduled for release in September 2004.
