Post Females Fall For Frights

Believe it or not, women outnumber men in horror audiences. [details]

That's right, the ladies like horror too, (if not more-so)! Heh-heh! I'd be curious who on the messageboards are women. (No I'm not some pervy dude trolling for girls). If you are a girl and want to keep it secret, you can PM me or e-mail me and I won't tell, it's just that some of the names are non-gender specific. Maybe we can make a Women of Horror Club! In fact i was considering having a mysterious name myself since there IS that risk of web-pervs, but I figured what the hell, I want to represent! It's just cool to know there are other girls like me out there when most people I know or meet are not into these movies. Interestingly most of my horror-movie dates end up being my gay male friends. The str8 boys i know are too squeemish! Also some of my bandmates (all-girl band) like horror while others can't stand the sight of fake blood. We're here:

Sorry if I'm getting off-topic i basically just wanted to comment on gender and horror.

I don't think its the whole female heroine thing. Most of the time when you see a trailor for a horror movie you don't know what roles each person plays fully. I hate to say this but I think because our lives are generally non-violent and somewhat boring in the action scene, we go to see movies that give us an arenaline rush. That's why I go, I love the feeling they give me...that and I just love gore to a frightening extent. BTW I like FAKE violence when I say things like this, I never refer to real violence and blood ^-^

I agree, I detest real violence. Fake horror violence especially with dark humor. That's what I like.
