Favorite Initial Attacks
Just out of curiosity, what are your favorite initial monster/killer/zombie/whatever attacks from films? What I mean is the first real time the antagonist attacks the protagonist(s). Example: Scream, when the killer attacks Sidney Prescott. Note, the initial attack i'm referring to is with the MAIN characters, so exclude intro scenes and other crap. Also note that not all movies have a real initial attack. I hope this doesn't come across as too confusing, I really just wanted to share mine:
Pumpkinhead. The teens are in the cabin, freaking out about the accident from earlier, and this huge large handed demon straight out of hell massacres about 4 of them right off the bat. Fantastic imagery and deaths too.

Night of the Living Dead. When the first zombie comes over the hill and attacks Johnny and Barbara takes a run for the car. It's not gorey or anything special but it will always be my faourite initial scene.

This is probably blasphemous around here, but whatever.
Dawn of the Dead 2004 Remake. When Vivian hops up into a fighting stance and then launches herself into the room, attacking Ana's husband. That whole opening sequence is probably my favorite, most intense opening I can think of off the top of my head. |

Meltdown w/ Jet Li, it's not horror, but the opening scene with the bus full of kids has always been a highlight opening scene in my book.
