Ain't it cool just posted a scathing review of the new X-FILES movie; on the other hand, ROTTEN TOMATOES has given it a 60% ,so far. I just can't believe Chris Carter would screw this up. He's had more than a few years to generate ideas. I truly want to believe this film is great. I loved the first seasons of THE X-FILES;. then, it got bogged down in the alien conspiracy crap. The stand alone episodes were always the best ones. The reviewer stated he liked the alien conspracy episodes the best. I think this negates his opinion. I'll read the positive and negative reviews on ROTTEN TOMATOES and check back in. Has anyone seen it? What's the word of mouth? Hopefully, I'll be able to write a postive review Friday night. I truly loved this show; it had elements of horror and was very much a different take on THE NIGHT STALKER. I loved THE NIGHT STALKER as a kid. So, I'll go into the film on Friday with lowered expectations, but still some hope that it delivers.

AICN moderator Harry Knoweles has had a long and not-so-hidden war with the Fox studio boss. He always praises every film that comes out from any other studio and slams the Fox releases.
I agree the Chris Carter wouldn't fuck this one up... god I hope he doesn't. the show was fucking brilliant and I can't watht to see Mulder and Scully together again.

the show slowly dragged itself down toward the end, and the final episode was disgustingly disappointing. I have not been interested. If i want mulder and scully i will watch the dvds.

I used to love the show but I don't remember if I ever saw the first movie. Was it any good?

it was good if you were a fan of the show and followed it regularly. the first x-files movie fit in between two seasons, and kept the common storyline running. so people that didn't follow the show didn't like it because it was mostly confusing.

Gotcha. Well if I decide to watch it I'll make sure I watch the seasons again first, thanks :)
