I just watched the Wicker Man with Nicholas Cage, Is the original any good?

I saw the original year ago, and I thought it was very good.

The original is amazing...remake is just laughable.
The original will lose some impact with you know that you've seen the remake, but its still an incredible film.

I haven't seen the remake and never will. Sorry, IMO you can't beat Christopher Lee. No one can ever redo one of his films and have it be good.

Well, everyone's already said what I was about to.
The original is a powerful and shocking film. I haven't seen the remake, and doubt I ever will.

i havent seen the remake either and i cant bring myself to cause i love the original soooooo much. it totally got to me as a child and ive loved it ever since.

There is one very odd and not-so-brilliant element to the Original: the soundtrack
god, that hippy-dippy shit really grates. I know it's thematically correct, but that music could have been much much better. Great film, though. I DO want to see Neil Labute's version, simply because I've heard it being called one of the most misogynistic films of all time...women destroying men seems to be a recurring theme in Labute's work.
